This election is a referendum on Jeremiah Wright apprentice and not on President Bush. Wait a minute. I call BS on McCain’s support among Republicans. I know GOPers in general aren’t crazy about JSM, but him getting only 85% of Republican base and Obama is getting 88%? Sorry, I am pretty sure that McCain has the support of close to 95% of the base, despite the so-called Obamican movement in Pub circles. Obama will be lucky to get 80% of the Dem base.

Nobody is running against Bush, but it does not help that he is unpopular. McCain is fighting a lot of forces that are going against him and the GOP, not the least a lethargy amongst conservatives. How else to explain the total absence of any 527s adding needed organization and advertising to the mix to help out?
