Your lubricated wisdom is making a surprisingly high degree of sense to me.

The husband is always portrayed as a helpless buffon.

The same in most commericials. Thank goodness for the mute button.

If things next week go as many expect them to go, the next popular animated television feature may well be entitled “Leader of the People’s Presidium of the USSA.” Heavily censored by commissars of the Ministry of Truth, of course.

Sad news! I love King of the Hill. Of course, I also like Beavis & Butthead.

My fave animated show... it was too good to last. Great stuff done with subtlety: the adulterous John Redcorn tells Hank, "It is wrong to take that which belongs to others..." (long pause, while Hank raises an eyebrow) "Food for thought."

For the past few seasons, Fox has done a crappy job of supporting KOTH... allowing preemption up the wazoo while simultaneously "treating" the viewer to two episodes of The Simpsons (which is now unendurable... the Family Circus of animation). Family Guy is 90% crap, allowing it to still edge out the utterly lefty-formulaic American Dad, which is about as high a compliment as I can manage.

It has been said that in the 1920's, American humor had "soured into wit." Now that creativity has been codified as being able to shock/repulse people with moral and spiritual scruples, mainstream animation has double-entendred itself into a state where humor has decomposed into politically correct ridicule. Laughter without any genuine humanity is probably a fitting garnish for Obamanation.

14 years is a helluva run for a great show. I never watched it religiously, but it is definitely one of the best shows ever made.

I really like “Family Guy,” I’ll admit, but it’s leftiness does annoy me sometimes. “American Dad” is just a bad show, liberal crap aside. “The Simpsons” hasn’t been great for going on 10 years now. “South Park” is always bleeding edge and completely offensive, which is why I love it. Some folks mentioned “Futurama” which is also a terrific show. Their lionization of Al Gore in some episodes is lame, but I’d rather he do voice work for a TV show than be POTUS.

I’ve learned a lot from Hank Hill. For one thing, butane is a bastard fuel.

Hank had a great line...

My favorite came from Bobby Hill:
"I'm so white that during the last riots, I bought a color TV!"

Stewie and Quagmire are the funniest characters IMHO. I agree that the lefty politics are quite annoying at times, especially the recent episode that featured the Nazi uniform with a “McCain/Palin” pin on it. Very tacky.

Even by my low expectations, I was shocked when I saw that McCain/Palin button. Propaganda is not funny.

if you didn't hit mute, you'd see that 95% of the time in the show, the "helpless buffoon" Hank is proven right

unlike the commercials

gonna miss this show like crazy!

Doctor: Well, there's really nothing *I* can do. What your back needs is rest. Just have your office send over the Worker's Compensation forms and I'll sign off on 'em.
Hank: Worker's Comp? Do I look like a hobo to you? No, sir, I'm *not* going on welfare. It's Indian summer!
Doctor: Well, if you insist on working, I'll write you a prescription for pain medicine.
Hank: Whoa there, Dr. Feelgood. I work at a propane dealership, not Woodstock.

that KILLED me!
