Me too, their voting habits are akin to self-flagellation.
That’s disgraceful, truly disgraceful.
No explanation here, I look to PA threads to help me feel better about living in CA.
I had a relative say they wanted to prove him wrong, and thinks thats why he said it in the first place.
Further proof of this is the Pa. senate increased its Republican majority yesterday to 7 seats and the House is almost evenly divided.
I defy anyone to explain PA voting habits to me.
Acorn
Well I hope they enjoy them and I also hope that when 0 bankrupts the coal industy the pain is felt first and hardest in Murtha's distrct.
This reminds me of the occasional idea of secession of sections of states to join other states, or to become their own state. It of course seems like a pipe dream, but I do think there are some areas of the country where this idea should be at least thought about.
The Pennsylvania T seems stuck in a sort of permanent purgatory, but you really couldn’t carve that out of PA, and if you split PA in half you’d likely have the same issue.
If one were playing GOD you could add Philly to New Jersey and leave the rest of PA...but that is, of course, absurd in reality.
The Panhandle of Fl should eventually join Alabama and Georgia, though I realize it is almost impossible to get done. At one time there was minor talk of Escambia county (Pensacola) leaving FL and joining Alabama. The FL Panhandle and South Florida might as well be Mars and Venus.
I am sure there are plenty of examples, but hard to see any progress on this front.
It's really that simple . . . and it's a pattern you'll see repeatedly across the country in any district where a long-term Congressman sits.
Heck -- the voters in Alaska re-elected two Republicans (Don Young and Ted Stevens) who may very well be in prison before they can finish their next term in office.
Western New York has it even worse. At least in PA the T can win some elections.
Throwing Philly and NYC out and combining Western PA and Western New York into one would make for an interesting combination.
Never happen, of course.
