TX reelected three black Republicans on Nov. 4 as railroad commissioner and to two seats on the state Supreme Court. Their margins were lower than they were in their previous elections. Demos may gain the TX governorship in 2010 too with the liberal mayor of Houston in the running. Former gubernatorial candidate Chris Bell is a leading candidate for a Republican seat in the Texas Senate in a December runoff election.

“Alan Wolfe, announcing the end of the culture wars, ignores the fact that over 50 million people voted against Obama - are they all bigots?

And it isn’t over “’til the fat lady sings!!!”

Some people just can't win gracefully ...

But then Wolfe didn't actually win anything for anybody. He's just kibitzing — throwing his 2 cents in where it isn't worth any more than anyone else's.
