I expect things like that. Imagine them showing up at your door and tell you that someone needs your left kidney or lung

“We’re here for your liver” used to be the punch line in a comedy skit. Not so funny anymore.

Not the point. The hospital wrongly took this young man’s organs.

Nobody "murdered" him, his hobby killed him. Or do you really believe that doctors prowl the halls of hospitals looking for people who can provide harvestable organs?

He was brain dead, what part of that can you not accept?

There are some here who think it’s hilarious. I don’t know why JR allowed the trolls from the old clown site to return here.

Grief is a powerful emotion.

Lawyers are liberals.

Liberals are fueled by emotion and money.

Ergo,

I blame the lawyers.

The hospital wrongly took this young man’s organs. Since there's a lawsuit from some ambulance chaser, I guess we'll all find out.

Do you always make up “facts” to support your opinion?

I never said anything about prowling, and I have no idea what that has to do with it anyway.

If you really believe what you’re saying, why not go into a hospital and remove all the patients from their respirators, in front of witnesses. Go ahead. I double dog dare you. You won’t because you know you’re lying when you claim it’s not murder.

And I dare you to go to a funeral home and steal body parts from all the corpses. You won’t, because you know you’re lying about that too.

What makes you think the lawyers murdered him and stole his organs?

And why are you claiming he was brain dead, when nobody else has made that claim?

It’s a rhetorical question. I know why you’re lying, I just want you to address the issue.

Very sad for the parents, losing a child must be horrendous.

With that said, the physicians treating an injured person have no financial connections with harvested organs. The organs are dispensed through the organ lottery so the doctors have no emotional connections with the person receiving the organs. The determination of brain death is usually dealt with by independent physicians and lawyers before organ harvesting.

Unless you are dealing with an angel of death, the health care provider has no conflict of interest in giving the best care posible to the injured person.

I think this lawsuit is based on grief.

There are FReepers on this very thread who have voiced their support for removing ventilators from live patients without permission, and harvesting organs without permission. It’s not such a stretch to believe that there are such ghouls in medicine.

I don't believe a word of it! I have a friend who donated her son's organs 4 months ago and her experience was so much different. Brain dead is brain dead but his EKG showed 99.9 no activity and they waited 48 hours before the organs were taken. His skin was showing signs of deteriorating.

We’ll know soon enough what evidence the doctor(s) had to be able to harvest the organs. I know that for some of you, a Terri Schiavo-like existence is preferable to giving life to people who can use your young heart, liver, and et cetera, but like I said, for the snowboarders I’ve known, that would be worse than death.

Since there's a lawsuit from some ambulance chaser, I guess we'll all find out.

The problem with lawyers like the Breck Girl is that some have now wrongly concluded that all medical malpractice suits are frivolous, this IS NOT the case.
