The New York Yankees will redistribute two of their world series trophies to the Pittsburgh Pirates as a supplement to their loosing 16 straight seasons and counting.
The writer got one out of four right!
I was hoping they would send one to the “Houston Texans”. They could use some inspiration.
Dan Rooney would probably be pleased. It really burned me that when he was made Ambassador to Ireland, the national press as well as the locals reported that he was a lifelong Republican. Sure he is, and I’m the Pope.
This makes perfect sense.
Football is already a great bastion of socialism.
Just look at what happens in Football.
Redistribution of wealth - The WORST teams get REWARDED with 1st pick in the Draft in an attempt to “redistribute the talent” and EVEN THE PLAYING FIELD (and we are talking about professional businesses here!).
Vox Populi - The College Champions are VOTED for!! And not by everyone, just the Elite Media . Isn’t that how we got 0bama?
Success prevention - Salary caps! Yup, been there in the NFL forever and now being proposed by 0bama for businesses everywhere.
Never mind the actual achievement, let’s just pump up the self esteem - America’s championship is a domestic post season tournament between just 16 US based teams and then unilaterally declare the winners as “World Champions”!
Yup WORLD champions of the NATIONAL Football League...LOL!
Government style waste of time - Football takes three hours to play out a one hour play clock. So for two thirds of the time ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is happening. It’s like being at the DMV! And, of that one hour play clock there is only about 12 to 15 minutes that the ball is motion, the rest of the time is run off.
Government style inefficiency - 52 players suit up to play a game that requires just 11 players on the field.
It’s Socialism enshrined!
So redistributing the trophies makes perfect sense....:-)
