I’m going out on a limb here and saying that you should have to prove sobriety and sanity before appearing on television. Olbermann’s show would be canceled.
He's neither stupid nor intelligent, rather he's the idiot savant of the barking mad left. His circuits are hardwired to emit a response that will resonant with those trapped forever in the infantile world view of undergraduate social science studies.
The suits at MSNBC have decided that he has captured a niche market and want to ride it for what it's worth. There is apparently no consideration that having this drooling ludus naturae associated with them could hurt the NBC brand.
This is such a stretch.

This gives me an idea. We all need to write to the corporate sponsors of Olbermans show and tell them we will never again buy their products while they advertise during his stint. And then we need to write/call/fax MSNBC and tell them what we did.
That will get him either pulled or toned down in a hurry. The wallet is the most sensitive part of the body for all corporations and NBC is no exception.

Actually they are a second rate tabloid news hetwork now having overtaken CNN in prime time. Olbermann is a mildly entertaining whacko, but Chrissy and Rachel are just too far round the bend. Of course OReilly and Hannity are annoying, too. I try not to watch any of it and just read good commentary like here at FR. Cable TV is all about grabbing and holding the largest audience possible in order to sell them $19.95 junk by screaming shills like Billy Mays!
If only we had more Sarah’s and Michelle’s in this world, we might still have a chance to fix this country. I hope that if Sarah Palin becomes our first woman President, that she puts Michelle Bachmann in her cabinet. Michelle would do a great job in the White House
