Liberty. Freedom. A city on a hill. Limited government. Individual, inalienable rights. Separation of powers. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Once the argument devolves into policy, then it can picked apart and one side can be pitted against the other. When the presentation focuses on ideas and vision, we can compare our ideas with the ideas of the socialist left, and in that contest, conservatives will win.
Ultimately, elected officials do make public policy, rendering debate about public policy something that must be engaged.
Otherwise its all just sloganeering.
So how do you want the themes that you put forth to manifest as policy?

What you’re saying about elected officials is true; I’m talking about campaigning and convincing people to follow a cause.
IMHO, one of the reasons for the Republicans to do so poorly is that they’ve stopped making decisions based on original principles.
How they do it is up to them. You start with first principles and work up from there, whatever those first principles are. If I was a politician, I could answer your questions better, but I’m not.
