Yes there are many dealerships in the Houston metro area that’s for sure. Landmark went out of business and their vehicles were being liquidated. The guy in charge of the liquidation process told me they had over 1100 vehicles to handle.

Too bad autos are a depreciating asset. I hear the dealer auctions are dumping new cars.

Quality used cars are hard to find at reasonable prices at the auctions. Depending upon make/model some are selling at prices approaching retail. The other major factor today is that it’s hard to finance buyers even those with good credit. Recently the best buys have been in the new car market where you can get substantial discounts and 0% for 72 months.

I agree. Dealers have plenty of 08 on the lot. I am wonder where they will park the 10’s in 4 months.

As a side note, this truck has the 300 CI straight 6 and it gets 20-22 MPG on the Hwy. That was the last year they made that great engine. Love my truck.

That old 300 straight 6 was a great engine. Drove a couple of F-100's with that engine. Gobs of low-end torque (though it wouldn't rev much). The things ran forever and they ran well.

The good news is that everyone is out of a job, Obama will be out of his.

Well, as a good Irish lass, I can appreciate dark humor. We can be very dark.

Very true. I will say this though, I think one can get away with this easier in the South.

Yes, no salt on the roads needed in Winter. Unless the car was one of the hundreds of thousands in the NOLA floods. Ever wonder what happened to all of them? Surely they were not all baled and sent to China.....

Glad for the last part. We keep all of our cars for a long time too but eventually they get so yukky I like to have a new car. Someday I’d like to have a Mercedes or something like that but it’ll probably never happen. My husband likes Corvettes from a certain period and he likes the old Mustangs. I like Corvairs too even though they’re supposed to be dangerous.
