I was thinking about doing the same.
I got three or four calls... AFTER they allegedly took me off their list.
(Of course, I did string them along and ask how much it would cost to renew the warranty on my 1962 Chevy pick-up or my 1982 Oldsmobile for the first two calls.)
It's pretty simple. You should have complained to the FTC, not the FCC. No wonder they couldn't help.
It appears government needs to also go after the credit card services people. I hate those people, too many
times I’ve dropped what I’m doing to go answer the
phone, only to have them at the other end of the line.
And it does no good to tell them to take you off their calling list.
And right now there are also so many people behind on their bills, through no fault of their own in many cases, that these calls added to the other “collections” calls are an even more nefariously evil intrusion.
My wife applied for a job the other day in NC and she got called. They asked her a lot of questions, like they were filling out an application with her over the phone and then they said, “ok, in order for us to send you the application for the job all we will need is your credit card number.” My wife asked why and they hung up. INTERESTING NEW SCAM.
Scams like this wouldn’t work if people didn’t fall for them.
Good thing your wife was on the ball.

Yup....I get harassed by both of these companies. Sometimes they will call me twice a day. The number on the caller ID is bogus and leads to disconnected numbers.
I hope that she did not give them her Social Security Number.
