it would cost £200 a month to lease

Ever wonder why you can't purchase these wonder cars? The last electric car I read about, the lithium ion batteries cost $30,000. Twice the price of the car in which they were installed. You could only lease the car.

This Brit 'hydrogen car' is powered with a fuel cell. Currently, hydrogen fuel cells are costly to produce and are fragile.

Engineers are studying how to produce inexpensive fuel cells that are robust enough to survive the bumps and vibrations that all automobiles experience. Also, many designs require rare substances such as platinum as a catalyst in order to work properly. Such a catalyst can also become contaminated by impurities in the hydrogen supply.

There is a reason why we don't all drive steam powered cars. Or electric cars. They were tried. They are not economical or practical in modern use.

I would guess it would be some kind of hybrid of sorts with Solar and generated electric.
