An elbow injury requires a cast initially to immobilize the broken joint and then surgery to implant a screw and a wire to hold the bones in place correctly until they heal. After wearing a cast after surgery, there are months of painful physical therapy to regain use of the arm. Learning to eat again is a challenge. Most people just live with the implants and from personal experience, its the worst kind of injury.

This happened to a relative. I can't believe the pity one liners, they are getting sicking, because you and I know this injury takes you out of commission for quite a while and she may never be the same if the replace the joint with a replacement joint.

I am no doctor, but IMHO her political career maybe over if it is severe.

She could have injured it while drunk at Greg Norman's house trying to lift a half naked woman over her shoulder, and then slipped and blew her knee out.
