Thatcher didn't mind giving it to Ronnie either. That's one of the many reasons he was so fond of her...LOL.
In his book on Reagan, Thatcher and the Pope, John O'Sullivan recounts the story of Reagan being in a meeting and taking a call from her and she was thundering down the line at him about something or other they had a disagreement on. He held the phone up so people in the room could hear and said "Isn't she wonderful?"
These are key words. She has long been regarded as the hands down dumbest member of the US Senate, though, in fairness, that was before Senator Burris was appointed. "Senator Shuffle" might give her a run for the money in the dimbulb race.
Good idea! I was just going with the traditional definition of the term, in which M = Mother or Mutha.
Good one though!!!
Re: Hitlery.
No person, in their right mind, in the world, would ever desire to ride that POS hard.
That sounds so much like Reagan, one of the greatest presidents of this country and we need another just like him.
Reagan used humor qwuite a bit to throw his opponents off of their stride but his humor could not only be funny but very pointed and stinging as well which was very appropriate for the man.
Much like Lincoln too in that humor regard as well and not many people know that about Lincoln.
So should the drama queens in the universe (with them well represented here on FR). When women can be taught to think and speak clearly, they will find that people will take them seriously in all matters.
Don’t forget Liz!!!
S.E. Cupp is on FoxNews.
But,the only time I see her ,for the most part, is on Greg Gutfeld’s late, late, night show.
I remember military manuals from my Dad. Something like “...a female officer is addressed either ‘Sir’ or ‘Ma’am”. But long time ago..
I miss him so much. The world lucked out to have a strong man and strong woman working together during that period.
BTW, the author of the book I was referencing, John O'Sullivan, was a friend and advisor to Thatcher before coming to America. He wrote an excellent piece in the WSJ, drawing parallels between Thatcher and Palin at this stage of Palin's career. He's very high on the Guv.
Maybe's there's hope.
She looks good and she looks happy in a Palin sort of way.
You obviously weren't around in the 70's when is started. There's ALWAYS been something wrong with it.
Great point.
“...due to the rise of Palin, whose career promotes the myth that a woman can ‘have it all’”.
I agree. We seem quite content to use Palin as our heroine, her family be damned. I have no doubt she loves her husband and her children, but no woman can have it all without the bow breaking somewhere. Facts of life.
The Reagans had two rebels, did they not? Great men inspire us, great marriages inspire us, but they often crush their children, unwittingly.
When I was a child we were required to call men “Sir” and women “Maam.” As in yes, Sir, or yes, Maam. That was the respectful way to address adults. I still address people who are significantly older than I am in that way. All this episode told me is that Barbara Boxer was raised in a barn. She is a vulgar, shrill egomaniac.
