anyone who thinks a third party has a credible shot at the white house is delusional at bestYes, and they care more about their own egos than their country.

After all of this high drama they keep whipping up about her, all of these polls show that nothing has changed Yes, the unfavorable have not moved!!

I want to point out how short-sighted is your post. On another blog, an extremely conservative poster (who also thinks she is entitled to take her ball and go home if things don't go her way) just posted she will not support Palin because she quit her job but she could support Pawlenty, Jindahl, or Huckabee. Well, I find Huckabee unacceptable, I'm skeptical about Pawlenty and Jindahl is a possibility but you get the idea. I'm likely to be disappointed in who becomes our nominee but I know full well, I will remain united in my desire to save my country from the grips of these Dumbocrats the best I can.
Sorry, what is the use of running another RINO. That has worked SO well recently. I'd rather lose with SARAH than lose with a RINO. But I don't think Sarah will lose. She can run as a third party and take all of the Republican conservatives and enough of the independents (and maybe even a few Rats) and she CAN WIN.

Palin (21%) and Huckabee (19%) share the same basic demographic, as do Romney (26%) and Gingrich (14%. That’s about an even split, assuming that “Republican leaning Independents” break in proportionately similar numbers as Republicans in general—admittedly a risky assumption.
I don’t think Huckabee is a serious player. If I’m right, Palin is well-situated to start her run from a solid base.

We can’t even agree among us as to what defines a RINO. We just know we don’t like them. I think a RINO is anyone who does not agree with me 100 percent.

Guys, Palin isn’t gonna run in 2012.
What is the advantage?
She gets to be bloodied by Romney, the RINO establishment, the MSM, and the Democrat establishment during the primaries. Then, she’s supposed to come out in fighting form to take on Obama? And win? Come on!
No, her best bet is to work to get conservatives across the parties elected in the House and Senate, and then make a run in 2016. Let’s face it: the Republicans have learned nothing from 2006 and 2008. They STILL think that running someone like McCain or Powell is their best shot at the presidency. By the time the press gets through with the GOP in 2012, the nominee will be either Romney or some Obama-lite clone. Predictably, Obama will win (why elect a clone when you can elect the “real thing”?).
As I said before on this forum: the American people will just have to suck it up and SUFFER the consequences of their choices. As the NY Post reported today, New York taxpayers are just now waking up to what their support for Obama will mean for them, personally. After you’ve told the kid not to touch the hot stove ad nauseam, the only way for the kid to learn is to get burnt.

Here's what I took away from the poll and article. Palin knocks them out of the park on Republican favorables(and even leads among all Americans). I think that is key considering the vitriolic attacks that come from all sides. But the money statement from the article is this:
Presidential nomination preference polls conducted roughly three years before the party's nominating convention in general would not be expected to predict the eventual nominee. At this stage, these polls to a large degree reflect respondents' familiarity with the possible contenders. For example, Rudy Giuliani led most GOP preference polls in 2007, but performed dismally in the actual primaries and caucuses.

Piyush Amrit “Bobby” Jindal was born on June 10, 1971 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Jindal IS a natural born citizen. U.S. law recognizes two types of U.S. citizen, naturalized and natural born. Jindal was, by the act of being born, a U.S. citizen; thus a natural born citizen.

There is no contradiction there. I have a “favorable opinion” of the janitor at my office, who does a fine job of taking out the trash with minimal disruption to my routine, but I do not consider her qualified to be President of the United States.

There was a time when I could have supported Romney for president. But with Palin on the scene as the read deal conservative, she makes Romney look like a white Obama. I could never support him now. Good point, Palin elevates everything and changes our perception of what is possible to get from and demand from our possible candidates. Palin elevates the conservatives to top rank within the party and that accounts for this total war against her.

The reality is that she has a base of about 20%, and no traction whatsoever beyond it.

There is no contradiction there. I have a favorable opinion of the janitor at my office, who does a fine job of taking out the trash with minimal disruption to my routine, but I do not consider her qualified to be President of the United States. Palin is a leading candidate for getting the GOP nod, and over 20% support her over all other candidates and over 70% of GOPers said they would vote for her for President if she was nominated. Palin is not viewed as a janitor, but as a potential candidate. So when people are asked about her, it is through the prism as Presidential candidate. Certainly, there might be a few who say they would vote for her, but not think she is qualified. But there is NO WAY, the 33% number that CBS put out is accurate. It is over 50%, but it is definitely an area Palin needs to improve upon.

Right, and it doesn't matter either what she says and does in the future. That can't change, right? It must be terrible for you with your mind stuck in cement. Don't bother to respond, I already predicted it.

The reality is that republicans and conservatives love her, which leaves you out. She has the highest favorables among the general public as well, considering that she is only able to absorb constant attacks from the left wing media and you at this time with out having a paid campaign to fight back with, her numbers are stunning and maintain her position as number one candidate.

The PPP poll in NC yesterday pitted Obama directly against Palin. Obama is ahead 49-42 but the polling mix was 47 D, 33 R and 20 Ind.
Palin hasn't even hit the lower 48 yet. She's in good shape.

I still think Romney did more to hurt the GOP in the primaries than the bungling campaign managers at team McCain did in the general.
