I don’t know if other presidents and wives had huge staffs or not. I thought the White House comes with a staff; I didn’t think the First Family had to hire anyone else.
First of all, every President has a personal assistant, just like Reggie Love. And no, they don't live in the White House (and neither does Reggie, despite what you've "heard").
Second, every President hires staff. The White House does not come equipped with the staff a President needs to hire. Previous Presidents and First Ladies have had the same types of staffs as this current admin. has. There's nothing new or unprecedented here.

Despite deploying multiple aircraft, a huge staff and a motorcade of 20 vehicles including support staff on tours of London and Paris and la-di-da, apparently the White House feels there is some sort of executive privilege involved in withholding the cost of the First Family’s extravagances from the citizens who foot the bill for them.
Perhaps they thought we wouldn’t notice? Actually most don’t notice or as with the press they just look the other way...don’t want hurt feelings you know!

Bottom line. People should stick to real, factual stuff instead of spreading silly internet rumors, emails and stuff posted on "yahoo groups".

That is approx. $1,667,000.00 a year. X 4 years = Approx. $6,667,000.00. And I bet she still bitches to Zero.

Bottom Line: Laura was a graceful, classy & wonderful First Lady. Michelle is a fake, phony, fraud, sleeveless-style media creation, who trashes her country. The latter doesn’t deserve ANY of this catering.
I don't know that the pay scale was the same.
But do you think the new hires were chosen soley for the content of their character, or did skin pigment have anything to do with it?
I believe that their skin and donations got them a position for a lot of taxpayer dollars.
Laura Bush had one, and it was to help her with the day to day planning of events and assist her. Michelle Obama had 20+ and she still looks wretched!
