But that said, the ideological assumptions in the books need to be challenged, in every way possible, with America's youth. There are various approaches:
1. The references to Obama's father are ludicrous when one remembers that he was, in effect, just passing through, when Obama was conceived. The birth of Obama seems not to have seriously gained his attention. What in the name of reason is inspirational in that? What possible benefit can accrue to any child, who is given to see anything inspirational in that.
2. Obama's activities in the first book were made to sound like those of "Johnny Appleseed," a Southwestern Ohio folk legend, who planted apple trees all over our Ohio valley, in the early days of settlement. The difference is that our folk hero was a loner, doing genuine good for coming settlers. Obama was a young Marxist, seeking to organize susceptible people in a manner similar to Communist & other Marxist influenced totalitarians (such as Hitler) might have embraced in Europe's march towards the Collectivist societies that endangered the world of two previous generations of Americans.
Children are not too young to learn which side Americans used to be on, in the dichotomy that brings to mind.
I think dove season begins this Saturday.
A younger conservative female friend told her kids teachers/principal if they go through with the 0b0z0 program, she will keep her kids out of school that day.
Our schools are really hurting with our financial crisis, and if a high % of parents said their kids weren’t coming if the 0b0z0 program happens, a lot of Fed funds would lost that day.
I don’t necessarily think burning copies of “Little Women” or “Huckleberry Finn” would be a good thing...however,a weenie roast over a smoldering copy of “Mein Kampf” wouldn’t hurt my feelings any.
This is truly sickening.
Not only do I have a difficult time believing that there are people in America who believe and write such propaganda, but that an institution (public education system) would force feed our children this dangerous pap.
For the first time in my 54 years of life, I am beginning to fear the government and what under Obama it has become.
...”That wasn’t “Hope” talking, it was the DOPE.”...
ROFLMHO. Thanks for the brightener....
(3 sections and manage 36?
West Texas?)
Oh yea!
40 square miles.
There is no requirement, just a statement in the preK-6th grade section that states:
Before the SpeechTeachers can build background knowledge about the President of the United States and his speech by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama. Teachers could motivate students by asking the following questions:
Who is the President of the United States?
What do you think it takes to be president?
To whom do you think the president is going to be speaking?
Why do you think he wants to speak to you?
What do you think he will say to you?
There is a similar statement in the grade 7-12 activities suggested curricula.
I don't see any requirements anywhere, so I think it is more than a little disingenuous to state that there are any requirements let alone these specific books (no matter how ridiculous they are). If anybody can refute the above, I'd sure like to see the proof. If there is any, I'd be pretty apt to get excited (angry) about it myself. The whole thing stinks, but I say; lets get our facts straight first!
This statement by my daughter didnt make sense to me day before yesterday, but it does now.It doesn't make me sick --- it scares me to death!
8 year old daughter comes up to me and said Mama, did they have a bunch of books on George Bush? I asked why (confused) and she said Because they have SOOOO many books about Obama at school. They even have books about his DOG!!!
This makes me sick.
Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.

I live on the other side of the country in another blue state. But, now and then, I find myself behind a pickup with the same sort of stickers you describe... lol... probably driving the other drivers crazy, but I appreciate it.
