That’s exactly how I feel tonight. I’ve been busy all day gathering links to put in my emails, battling on my friend’s facebook (per her request) against a friend of hers that’s an obot teacher, on the phone with family.

I just took a long, hot shower, popped a couple benadryl and an 800 Motrin and decided I’m going to See’s tomorrow to pick out a pound of chocolate. For years, I have run to See’s when I feel like this, which hasn’t been often.

I got home from Iraq on 14 August and my wife and I pulled all three of our school-aged children out public schools immediately. They are now home-schooled, free of charge, through a chartered academy that is open to residents of Colorado, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Parents can go to mydela.com and find out more. They even provide each of my children a computer and the instruction is with a live teacher over the internet/video conferencing. It's amazing!

Oh, and I made sure I let the school board know why my kids were pulled out so that they can report it to their union bosses, etc.

You have my sympathy - I live in a very blue town in a very blue county in a very blue state, too. It’s always a pleasant surprise to hear anyone around here say anything even remotely Republican.

Well, that depends. We had patronized a store here for a very long time. Often times we’d spend quite a while talking with an elderly woman who worked at the store. On countless occasions she would comment on how well behaved our children were, and how well our kids carried themselves.

During one visit, as we talked with this woman, she discovered that the children were home educated. In an instance her demeanor changed and she became another person. The sales clerk went on this diatribe about her bad homeschooling neighbor, and how the child couldn’t even write his name (now how would she know that?). It was obvious that this clerk did not know the family, judging by her the conversation.

Bigotry and hatred are not slaves to logic. The person in the public school whom I mentioned in my previous post is a Freeper. You’d think they’d at least respect a persons right to choose, but they’re against it when it comes to educating our children.

Thank you for the compliment. One child is currently in college.
