People wouldn’t hate change so much if once in a while a change would come along that actually made things nicer for you.

FR is not a "social networking" site. Its a news forum.
We are giving you advance notice so that you will have time to change your contact information from your Frost email address to your personal email address on any social networking sites that you use

The DoD installation De-Freeped about 2 years ago and about 6 mo ago it Re-Freeped. :-)!You might be thinking of Facebook which was recently re-allowed.
I've Freeped on NMCI computers on land and at sea the whole time I've been in the navy (during downtime of course).

We have “social network site” alerts now on our web browser, but FR doesn’t get the warning. Some blog sites do.

My company has a firewall programmed to block social networking sites and I cannot access Facebook, MySpace etc. But Free Republic and other political forums ARE accessible.

Telecommute like I do and it becomes a non-factor. That would be nice. But I'd need 3 or 4 high-power computers, about 8 large monitors, 2 redundant T-1 lines, about recorded 5 phone lines, a secure perimeter, and a staff to maintain it all.

Free Republic isn’t a social networking site, it is a forum. But, in the unlikely event that they do block it, get a laptop with Wifi to use at lunchtime. Sit in a Wifi location and Freep away like mad for an hour.

I remember when DoN blocked yahoo mail. Ironically, it was safer than NMCI mail at the time. We kept getting yahoo mail from yahoo india.
