What does it say about a leader who may be far more popular abroad than his predecessor yet has trouble converting that esteem into tangible benefits for the United States? President Bush had class and understood protocol. Obama is out of his league on the world stage. Hillary was right... all Obama had is a speech he gave in 2004. And you can't ride that forever.

His decision to become the first president to lobby the Olympic committee in person, just two weeks after saying he was too busy with health care legislation, was a risky gamble from the start. It was predicated on the theory that Mr. Obamas star power overseas the best brand in the world, as his advisers have put it was luminescent enough to sway enough committee members to make the difference.I thought he was lobbying for his next job as leader of the world.

I am sure Rio deserved to win, yet I am also convinced that much of the No vote on Chicago was pure anti-Americanism.
HOWEVER, with Chicagos handgun ban, no shooting athlete would have been ALLOWED to compete, or even posess his handgun, in Chi-town! Maybe they would have done that in Michigan?

A sense of stunned bewilderment suffused Air Force One and the White House...They think they're invincible. What a shock to them to discover they are mere mortals just like the rest of us.

Maybe already said but - Zero travels the world telling everyone how terrible this nation is - and then expects the committee to believe him when he tells them Chicago, USA is the place to hold Olympics?
He better get his stories straight.

Article reports...
First this:
Given that Mr. Obama flew overnight and made his presentation about 3 a.m. Washington time, Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said it consumed few regular work hours that would have gone to other priorities.
Then this:
Mr. Obama, Michelle Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Ms. Jarrett worked the phones in recent weeks without coming away with a sense of how behind Chicago really was.
The whole damn bunch were playing Dialing for Dullards.

The man's Presidency has been a series of never-ending fumbles. If it wasn't so serious, it would be downright laughable. No one respects or fears Obumbler.

What has this goofball ever accomplished on his own?
He got elected to the US Senate by getting his competitor disqualified. His college was paid for by someone else. His media got him elected. He can’t convince the US taxpayer to go along with any of his plans, so he has to include force. He is using unelected and unaccountable czars to get his way, again with the force. He is using the force of the US government to rule, not to govern because he is incapable of actually selling anything. Empty suit big time.
