I wonder if Roger Goodell would make similar comments if the Rev. Al & Jesse Jackson headed a syndicate bidding on an NFL franchise. It could be fairly said that both of those guys have made extremely ‘divisive statements’ in the past. Goodell might want to re-think his standards for NFL owners because he might face this situation in the future.

“Will he dare play a black quarterback?” What further proof do you need that the writer is a clueless idiot? The left is drowning in the muck of race baiting.

How come I don't recall articles like this about Mark Cuban and the sports teams he owns? Didn't he sponsor a movie that trashed our troops in Iraq?

Plus the Steelers aren’t for sale any time soon, since the Rooney’s have owned that team since it’s inception.

Will he dare play a black quarterback? Rush would play a black lesbian double amputee if it meant the team had a better chance of winning.

I think Limbaugh ought to buy a few liberal newspapers instead. It would be fun to watch all the so called journalists tell him they wouldn't work for him.He could sue them all for libel, for relying on a Wikipedia article.

The self righteous indignation from those in the NFL industry who regularly forgive the past illegal actions of many, against the legal opinions of one man, ring hollow. Heck, they are almost as bad as....congress.

Plus the Steelers arent for sale any time soon, since the Rooneys have owned that team since its inception.Actually the Steelers might be on the block in the not too distant future. There is disagreement in the Rooney family about whether they should continue owning the team. It's possible that part of the family could force a sale.
I would expect that unlike the Rams the Steelers would command a record price tag. So either Rush is thinking that he has a better chance buying the Rams with his co-bidders, or he plans on leveraging his minority position with the Rams when the Steelers hit the block. (IOW's sell his minority position in the Rams to his partners while bidding for the Steelers).

Will he dare play a black quarterback? Will he sell season tickets only to card-carrying conservative Republicans? These are idiotic questions?
A better question would be, "Will he play a black quarterback instead of a white quarterback because he want to promote the black race?" - Unlikely. He will select the best qusrterback he can irrespective or race.
And the season ticket question is too dumb to even mess with.

The most recent figure I saw dates back to July 2008, put the Steelers net worth at $1 billion. Granted this is before their Super Bowl win, so they’re probably worth more than that at the moment.

I disagree. It would be wonderful entertainment to see Rush expose Sharpton for the fool he is.

I would think that owning the Rams would be punishment enough without having to resort to ad hominem attacks. Oh wait, that was an ad hominem attack. Dang. Tricky, this.
;’) Thanks Ernest.

I guess the Sun-times rivals the N.Y. Slimes for having a monopoly on idiot left-wing scribblers. I thought Mary Mitchell was a dim bulb, but this Carol Slezak takes the cake. She’ll shortly have to eat a lot of her particularly stupid words.
