I was so STUNNED when i saw this. I couldn’t believe how he just chattered away and received applause, yadda yadda yadda, THEN, with NO emotion in his voice, announced the murders at Ft Hood, as if he were talking about an episode on a TV Show!

And then I remembered how President Bush would address the American people in times of sadness or crisis.

However one may have felt about him, he loved our troops!

Had the shooter targeted late-term abortion providers rather than US Soldiers, you can bet that a strong condemnation of the shootings and a call for sympathy and prayers for the surviving families would have been the first items out of his mouth.

The job to speak about it was not the President’s. Not even anyone in DC — maybe the Pentagon, or DHS. All information should have been out of Texas.

This speech happened a good three hours after the shootings occurred. The President had certainly been briefed on the shootings and should have been more informed on the status than almost anybody in the world. His responsibility at that moment, while making a speech that would certainly be broadcast, was to be the LEADER who addresses the people with words of comfort, words of resolve, and words of purpose - not giving shout-outs and talking about all the great things coming out of some conference. Contrast that to clinton the boy president and his response to the OK City bombing, and at least boy clinton looked presidential.
