Palin is a conservative...that is really all that is important. Your shallow insults tell more about you than it does about her.

I'm not a Palanite Mr Bright. She was not well prepared to be VP on the initial outing and unless she has prepared herself much better about events on the world stage she won't be getting my vote.

But that's not the argument. The argument is that you, like any number of dense republicans, thinks our leaders should not respond to attacks by leftist loons and liberal Rockefeller Republicans. It is a recipe for disaster as evidenced by President Bush, a good and decent man who unfortunately grew up on the side of the tracks that thought a smack in the chops was not to be answered by a violent ass kicking.

I don't like pacifists of any sort be they political or physical. And I don't much care whether you like it or not so long as the next conservative leaders understand the lessons learned in Bush's two terms.

Just to be clear however, I may not vote for Sarah Palin in a republican primary but whether I do or don’t I still admire who she is, what she stands for and what she has accomplished in life.

OK, now I get it. She is brilliant and ballsy, selflessly presenting the Truth to all who will hear. My bad for thinking otherwise. I think she should respond aggressively to Republicans for being whores and complicit in the destruction of the nation-— not engaging in petty little cat fights over how her inadequacy for the position was revealed to the nation to her own great embarrassment while at the same time declaring herself to be ‘Rouge’.

I can agree there is much to respect and admire, and that she has demonstrated very little to recommend her for President of the United States at this point. I even agree she has been treated in a manner that borders criminal in some aspects of what passes for journalism today. It’s the fawning adoration and knee jerk defensiveness I object to. My point was and remains, a person who writes self promoting tell alls and presents them on Oprah is never going to be the answer to the monumental questions before us, right now.

So if you agree that Sarah has been treated by journalists (and others) in a manner that borders on criminal, then why do you object to her defending herself and setting the record straight in her book?

And why should that be a disqualification in your eyes for the job of president?

Excuse me...didn't we just elect someone on just those qualifications alone...not even a governorship to add to the mix? Just keep shooting at conservatives from your "republican" perch, your aim is slow and your mark alludes you.

Romney bots will be attacking more and more...might as well get used to it lol.

But when I see the leftist tactics like, “Rouge”, you know you’re dealing with ignorance.

Because it isn’t serious. I think we are on the verge of losing the country. We’ve already lost much of what we were and each day brings new wonders. And if this is the way our political ‘heroes’ are going to spend their time, dishing on who bought which clothes and who insisted on what interview, and explaining why their wonderful future son in law (as presemted by her in the campaign) is posing nude,.....well, we have lost. I’m sorry, she just isn’t serious or authentic. Very few are, if any.

It’s a time for radicals, left and right. The rise of Beck is some evidence of that. We are going one way or the other and will undergo some real ‘formative’ years— many of them. The bill is coming due. I know which side I’m on, but the line for that side won’t form until the bottom becomes more clear. Dems will put us in free fall, Republicans in a somewhat tamer spiral, but the destination is much the same. Once we get there, get ready for some much leaner times in the name of digging the hole deeper or scratching our way out, but major sacrifices will have to be made. That’s the truth, and when I hear Palin say it, I’ll listen.

Right on - those arguments were foolish.

Sarah Palin was overhandled. She was green to a national campaign but the hate and lies that were spread about her were far from reasoned criticism. Even people on this website question how she handled her daughter’s pregnancy, - to them, go back to Huff Post, or tell us how you handled your daughter’s unwed pregnancy in your last campaign for Vice President. Or better yet, tell us about Joe Biden’s daughter’s cocaine problem and how he handled it....yeah, that’s right, not too much to say, you don’t even know when you are getting used like a rubber. Be intellectually honest and come up with some real criticism - stop mimicking those a-holes from MSNBC.

By the way, Biden was caught cheating at Syracuse Law School, and then was caught plagiarizing again in the 1988 campaign. Why don’t you and your kind in the liberal media talk about his moral credentials instead of talking about Bristol Palin. What a joke! What a set of dupes! Useful idiots.

You are in error. I have heard that there is no mention of Levi in the book. But let's not waste out time on such things.

Let's instead summarize your answer to my questions.

You are disqualifying Sarah because you think she has spent too much time writing at least several sentences in a book defending herself against journalists (and others) who have treated her in a manner that "borders on criminal". And you spend the better part of the last six hours on a thread trying to make the argument.

I didn't say she was in over her head. I'd say her learning curve was pretty steep. How many folks are actually prepared for being picked as Vice President? And media treatment all depends on to which party the person belongs. Don't you remember how the media treated Dan Quayle? He was enthusiastic and young, so the MSM immediately ripped him as some sort of goober. I daresay he was a great deal brighter than Algore, but the MSM never treated Algore that poorly.

Frankly, I'd prefer someone who is more natural than one who is a slick politician.

Why concentrate on the interview? Why not ask her, it seems to have taken up a significant part of her book and tour thus far.

The tour hasn't started yet. Does it really take "a significant part of her book"? 207 pages? 42? 4? Fewer?
