I recognize the leftist/secular worldview from which these criticisms come.

Secular doesn't go far enough. I'm basically secular, but what I am not is anti-religious, or anti-Christian. I'm not uncomfortable with American Christians having and promoting their views. I don't always agree with social conservatives, but I don't always agree with neo-cons either. Hell, I hardly ever agree with anyone!

This guy has a cultural bias against and discomfort with the actual people who are conservative. Culture always wins in the end. You'll adjust your political views to fit the people you feel most comfortable with. I don't have that problem because I hate all people equally.

"These are all things that liberals claim about conservatives, and more importantly, I recognize the leftist/secular worldview from which these criticisms come."

Ding! We have a winner.

Ditto that.

You don’t change your underlying worldview assumptions overnight,

and this list is of the natural, “logical” conclusions based on that underlying worldview assumption.

This is the type of person the “winnowing fork” that is Sarah Palin will expose as chaff.

Ditto. I quit reading LGF more than a year ago when he decided christianity in any form was a moral equivalent of radical islam, and posted endless versions of that theme. Charles Johnson used to be great following 9/11, early support for Iraq/Afghan wars and with Rather-gate, but he contributes nothing worthwhile anymore. At least this FR post made me click one last time on LGF.

You too?

I did exactly the same thing about a year ago.  I went back about a month ago, to look around, and did not recognize ANY of the people posting there.  Guess we are not the only ones who departed Charlie's blog.

Lucky for me I’m neither. I’m an anti-humanist.

>>MOMMY!, MOMMY!, MAKE HIM STOP!<<

LOL! Anyone can repeat liberal talking points. Why LGF and steve-b chose today to do so is only known to God.

Other than maybe getting a little feistier in the past couple of years, I don't believe that any of the core beliefs of the people listed on this new "enemies list" have changed much in the past few years. Pat Buchanan is who he has always been (except for maybe a little more publicly anti-Israel than before). Ann Coulter is the same as always. Pro-lifers haven't changed. Ditto on down the list. If he fears those people now then he should have feared them when he started his site if he was paying any attention.

Also, even if every person on your side is a complete rectal orifice, would that change your core beliefs? Would you change from an economic individualist where no person's body or labor belongs to anyone else to an economic collectivist where everyone's bodies and labor belong to the government just because some of those believing in freedom were obnoxious? Maybe you would fight from a different angle. Maybe even you would lapse into a disgusted apathy because you can't deal with your "friends". But you would never switch to the other side for that reason.

Sounds like the comments of a propagandized leftist, not someone on the “right”.

Pure spew, steve-b. Post it on DU, where somebody will appreciate it.
