It hasn’t happened in my lifetime. Maybe next time will be different.

Has there ever been a failed Vice Presidential candidate with electoral votes who has ever gone on to win the office of President? A President Palin would be truly historic.

The only thing I’m certain of is that the Republican party, with the remarkable exceptions in 1980 and 1994, shows a propensity for shooting itself in the foot.

“Well that is why I figure him to some weird conundrum.

He was the lesser of two evils and I think we all have seen how that has gone.”

I agree. Lesser evil is still evil. Maybe a little slower, but there it is. Honestly, we may end up being better off with the rate the Dems are pushing things - for one reason only: the frog is starting to notice the heat. The slow GOP-type socialism was killing us without a whimper.

THIS..... people are getting mad about.

Bush was just the lesser of two evils.

He turned out to be, but he ran as a conservative. My vote for him in 2000 was cast as enthusiastically as any vote I've ever cast.

NO WAY! I’m here, I’m ready and I’m going to be their biggest boil on their ass.

Millions of Americans are so frustrated with democrats right now, there's almost an audible undercurrent buzzing No wonder the WH hates Fox News and conservative talk radio. It's an electrical current highly energized and adding people by the thousands daily (many many independents and former democrats - many of whom voted for Obama) who want off the sinking ship that wants to take America down with it.

your right.

It all began 4,000 years ago when Ramese blamed the “Burning Bush” for his ills.

Obama, let my people go. 4 years in the wilderness is too long.

And there you have it:

“A little slower” Which I guess many of were hoping for that but, now we see the error of our choice and inability to lose a few battles to win a war.

Part of the problem is also that we are fighting to the middle and demand everyone be treated with parity, while the other side seeks domination. Period.

James Cox/FDR 1920. Lost to Harding/Coolidge.

A President Palin would be historic for other reasons. The start of the rollback of socialism.

No more fighting “fair”, then.

After all: “I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.” - Goldwater

The new mantra I'm hearing from the Rats is 'But they do it too", and
"both sides are guilty". It's becoming childish.

Lesser evil is still evil.

Bush ran as a conservative. His platform was almost libertarian. If he had aimed the country in that direction, we wouldn't be where we are now as the Republicans would have kept control of the congress, Jumpin' Jim notwithstanding.

Ah, thanks for that factoid.

I do hope that a President Palin could stand up to all the forces that appear to be ruining our country.

here is the deal. We thought when GW was gone there would be an idealogical fight. Well we got one alright.

No one disagreed with their opponent. In fact, they said so many times “we are in agreement” “probably not much different”, etc. It was disgusting.

There were no real good choices and so BDS set in combined with McCain’s candidacy and we got Barry O.

Almost libertarian. On some things. He talked about some of his later liberal domestic policy ideas in the 2nd debate with the Goron, though. He did specifically run against nation-building.

He couldn’t keep up the conservative facade after the first campaign and didn’t even really bother after he’d gotten what he needed from us voters in 2004.

If he’d been at least somewhat conservative in policy and had used the bully pulpit effectively, we would not be facing national economic collapse and an increasingly totalitarian government. At the very least, spending would not have almost doubled from Clinton. Pity he was a lib at heart.

If you mean staying above the fray and waiting to win, I hope not. ;)

Two Ron Paul fans who favored Obama over McCain. Yeah, you two have alot of credibility. Hey, Sarah Palin favors a hawkish foreign policy. Does this make her a 'neocon' like Bush? Does her support for Israel mean that you are going to favor Obama again if she runs? What's Ron Paul's take on America's alliance with Israel? What's his take on islamic terrorists, whom he compares to concentration camp victims?

"Dear God, we’re in a mess now with Obama. "

The following is an E-mail I recieved today:

Dear Mr.Grim Reaper,

So far this year you have taken away my favorite dancer and entertainer Michael Jackson, favorite actor Patrick Swayze, and favorite actress Farrah Fawcett.

Just so you know, my favorite politician is Barack Obama. Thank you .
