>>>> "Who knows the difference between Ehud Barak and Barack Obama? Y'all are a major embarrassment." <<<<

Oh ... no ... are you serious? I was going to read this thread, but then came across your comment, do you mean to tell me that freepers saw the surname Barak AND they thought that it referred to BHO?????

This is almost as bad as all the posters who are yelling about how much they hate Arabs and do not seem to realize that Iran is NOT in the middle east and that Persians are NOT arabs.

VERY very sad, indeed.

Attacking Iran’s nuke facilities now would quell the anti-Gov’t protests for the time being - WHICH IS ACTUALLY A GOOD THING. The Iranian people hate the Gov’t, so a respite from protests would give the Mullah’s even more time to destroy their economy and population, thus making Iran a basket case (and a non-threat) for even longer.

Did you not get the Memo? That was modified to “Only one US nuclear bomb can ruin your day (Other countries need them to protect from us).

Thinking about it some more, I can interpret this in many ways. I’m not sure how to read into it. It could mean:

1. Israel really can strike the Qom facility and this statement is disinformation to let Iran put its guard down
2. Israel is trying to pressure the US into borrowing our bunker busters
3. Israel is putting on the table something a bit more powerful than a regular strike...something on the order of a few kilotons

Time will tell, I suppose.

“Fixed fortifications are monuments to the stupidity of man.”

- General George Patton Jr

Was that before or after he got his butt kicked at Metz. A fort cannot hold forever, but it can slow you down and make you change your plans. For example the Maginot line did work in cutting off the easiest attack route from Germany into France. It failed in that the French mobile forces failed to take into account a changed German plan to invade via Holland and Belgium.

The Iranian bunkers are just designed to prevent the kind of quick raid that Israel has used on Iraq and Syria. Sure a determined bombardment could dig it out. But that is going to take time. Time for Iran to mobilize it's much larger population and more importantly its Dhimi friends in the UN and the White House.

A nuke will break up the Iranian facility. Shock waves actually move much better through rock than they do through air. A nuclear bunker buster may not completely destroy the facility on anything except a direct hit, but it would knock out the delegate centrifuges with their micro millimeter tolerances. Also the fallout would keep the workers away until it could be cleaned up. Of course if you throw a nuke it is all out war all across the Middle East.

Is Israel willing to accept the diplomatic damage from using a nuke? In 1940 France didn't think that Germany would accept the diplomatic damage to invade Holland and Belgium. They were wrong and their super fortifications were rendered useless.

It's far far easier to accept diplomatic damage than it is millions of dead Jews from an Iranian nuke hit....and that is exactly what is going to happen if Israel does not act.

Conflagration across the ME and worldwide economic chaos seem to be in the cards if Israel saves itself or not.

although the structure might survive would not delicate machinery for nuke construction just be shaken of their legs and destroyed? ie centrifuges?

1. Mine the area with billions of bombs.

2. Don't worry about Mohammed Obamma. He cant change his spots, he thinks America sucks, and Americans will be out in historic numbers in November to voice their mutual feelings.

Your reading comprehension is a major embarrassment!

I never mentioned BHO or EB!

The fact remains U.S. Senate “leadership” in years past, has taken options off of the table.

i think youve answered yer own question...if they wont [cant] attack the mullah preemptively, then they must actually desire for their nuke program togo online so as to launch a ‘defensive’ strike...???

Yes, antimatter is real. Anihilation (total conversion of mass to energy) is real, too.

However, the tech doesn’t exist yet to store/transport it, let alone in quantity. It is also the most expensive substance on Earth - about $25,000,000,000 per gram (cost to produce). That is, if you could produce and contain a whole gram at once.

Good old H-bomb is a LOT cheaper.

This is all beside the point, though. Find the air shafts and drop a few thermobaric bombs at their inlets. If the mach 20 shockwave doesn’t kill everyone in the compound, it will at least cut off the air supply. Either way, the facility would be destroyed.

I say program a robotic nuclear boring machine, tunnel beneath the underground nuke facility, then 90 degree down until it runs into magma and allow it to vent magma into the nuclear facility from below.

I’m not so sure about anti-matter but plasma could work...assuming they still have the R&D funding after being Odummiesized.
