Top down sets the tone. Bush noted continuously that we were at war with terror and terrorists. Bammy’s admin says we’re not at war and that these are manmade disasters, and that we’re definitely not picking on Muslims, wonderful people that they are (sarcasm added.)

We were not attacked on US soil after the 9/11 series of attacks, precisely because Bush and team WERE HARSH and called a spade a spade, and we’ve been attacked 3+ times on US soil in 2009 precisely because that hasn’t happened under this joker admin.

Of course the RAT press, and the RATS themselves opposed every last move by the Bush admin (like wiretapping of suspected terrorist conversations originating overseas) even though those moves succeeded. But now that they’re in charge, we have to endure their assanine critique of the Bush admin of the very things that they drove (like releasing all the poor people who’d been maltreated and undoing Guantanamo and severe limits on our troops, etc.)

Blaming Bush = they think we’re insane, or dumb as rocks and have no memory.

Absolutely correctomondo, Bruce. Chertoff particularly was a serious guy who had some subject matter grasp where security was concerned and was a quick study otherwise. Bob Ehrlich, the former guv of Md., was on the radio this morning making the point that running DHS should be a security person’s slot, not a job for a policy wonk such as a former guv. Ridge was OK at the beginning because standing up a bureaucracy is wonk work. Beyond that, no, he didn’t “get” a lot of stuff.

In this particular case over Detroit there was some kind of deliberate misuse/neglect of the “system.” This happened at the embassy I believe, where the visa was not put through to US Visit. There’s just no way that if the basic info were in the “system” this Abdul woulda been allowed on that plane. We don’t have the full story on this yet.

Righto Bob. The blame Bush idiocy and stupidity that we’re getting from bammy’s clowns underlines a broader stupidity within this admin on how to actually govern, instead choosing the blame Bush derangement approach that seemed to have worked so well within their rabid dog base for about the last 8 years, and that worked in 11/2008.

Guess what, it’s no longer the hopey, changey, I don’t carey election, and we DO actually need leadership to help prevent our population from getting killed by terrorists who wish to do so. More and more people are realizing this.

Oddly enough I just this morning finished reading a book that more or less said EXACTLY THE SAME THING.

You might’ve heard of it. It’s called Going Rogue.

Obama called the situation “totally unacceptable” when he met with reporters Tuesday and put his top intelligence officials on notice that he wanted changes.

If we look at this situation objectively we can only
conclude that Obama was comfortable with the procedures
in place else why did he not insititute changes earlier?

We can only conclude that bammy was/is clueless, apathetic (think about what his true concerns are - not our safety, but the fundamental transformation of the USA (read: Socialism) or both!
