If ever a comment deserved a “barf alert,” it’s yours.

Refer to the clip of Mitt at the beginning of this thread.

He always thought abortion was wrong, but up until 2004 did not think the state should make it illegal. He took the same admittedly incoherent position as many liberals take, that they are "personally opposed" to abortion but don't want impose that view on others.

Sorry, FRiend. That's just not going to explain this one away.

If he was never pro-choice, why did he say he "changed his mind"? What did he change his mind from, and to?

I welcome his flip, in this instance, because it was in the right direction. But to deny that there was a flip is just a silly stand to take.

For the 20th time, he was pro-choice, and has admitted it. He just never used the label.

Admittedly, it's a little odd that he emphasizes the part about never using the label, but it's not dishonest.

I won't consider voting for Romney unless he is for allowing abortion in cases of (1) Violent rape (2) under age girl impregnated by incest (3) Extreme danger to mother's life for full term pregnancy.

It's very misleading, at the very least. It's well within the spirit of the term "dishonesty", even if it's not technically violating the letter of the law.

Mitt RomneyCARE = dishonesty = always violating the Law

Romney aide’s bogus badges: Sources detail ‘illegal’ security tactic

" Boston Herald - Friday, July 20, 2007
In an apparent violation of the law, a controverisal aide to ex-Gov. Mitt Romney
created phony law enforcement badges that he and other staffers used on the campaign trail

to strong-arm reporters, avoid paying tolls and trick security guards
into giving them immediate access to campaign venues, sources told the Herald.
They (the aides) knew the badges were fake and probably illegal,”
said a presidential campaign source who asked for anonymity
because the story could damage the individual’s career.
Two additional sources confirmed that the badges - described as bright silver plates with a state seal attached -
were first created and used by Garrity while Romney was still governor." Romney Presidential campaign caught with fake LEOs and fake badges in two states (includes NH).

Myth Romney 2007 campaign's dirty tricks included phoney State Troopers caught in two states
before he was caught using push polls, fake and deceptive stories to the Press about others,
and other dirty tricks on a daily basis.

Can you elaborate, please?

It's very misleading, at the very least.

Not if, in the same sentence, you describe what your position actually was. It only becomes misleading to those who would rip the label part out of context.

As some guy that is appearing to be more of a retread troll than anything, I would say that you are being a lot more slippery this time around, but your posts still aren’t making sense. What was your last sign up name?

And Romney lies so insultingly.

According to your characterization, it is possible to lie in a non insulting manner. Can you explain the difference?

Gun owners for example are deeply insulted by something like this, Mitt Romney:"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense," "They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

Then they are especially insulted by stuff like this below, Romney lies so much, so openly, and so without shame or hesitancy that it insults his fellow human beings.

Romney doesn't own a gun and appears to never have, yet in 2006 as he starts to run in the primary, he buys a lifetime membership to the NRA for political reasons.

That is typical of Romney and his shallowness and his cynicism, the man is probably a sociopath, he is definitely a compulsive liar.

Mitt Romney's compulsion to lie is just too powerful for him to control.

"Suddenly, a heavyset man wearing a bright-orange cap entered the room. “Mr. Romney,” he called out. “Eric Orff—I’m a hunter.”

It was a potentially awkward moment. Earlier this year, Romney claimed that he’d “been a hunter pretty much all my life.” A few days later, he said in a statement, “I’ve hunted small game numerous times.”Four days after that, Romney told W. Gardner Selby, of the Austin American-Statesman, “Any description of my being a hunter is an overstatement of capability.” Still, he couldn’t resist. “You’re a hunter?” he said to Orff. “Well, same here. Good to see ya.”

You are on a political web site, you must have a lot of experience of watching politicians, you really can’t see this for your self, or are you just one of those Romney guys that won’t put it out front, so they keep with the little questions like the kids in the back seat that are angry but too intimidated to speak out clearly and make their annoyance and their arguments plain.

To an adult, to show that Romney is an especially insulting liar should have been enough, you can contrast it with the many other Republican politicians that you have watched all your life at the level of presidential candidate.

Semantics...
For example, it seems superfluous to further characterize premeditated murder as a hate crime.....

You come off as cryptic and demanding to me, if you have something to say about Mitt Romney, then put it out there, let us know what it is.

Yep, fully agree.

It’s a waste of time for anyone to attempt the line that Romney has been pro-life. He has not been. He’s been pro-abortion or simply shapeshifting his position based on the way the political winds are blowing at any given point in time.

That’s a re-write of what I said earlier; probably written better this time.

I think there is a picture of him handing a check to Planned Parenthood at one of their meetings...lots of pro-life people do that without calling themselves pro-choice, eh, Mitt?
