This is why Obama can casually throw his grandma and pastor under the bus.
He can even casually talk about throwing his Presidency under the bus. What other Pres. has ever said he doesn't care if he is a one-termer? Yes, he said "if his first term is good" but that's nonsensical. If his first term was good why would there be a question about winning a second one? He simply doesn't care because even the Presidency is basically beneath him in his view of things.
Very true. I've wondered if he thinks he is just going to become Our Leader....What a liar & a fraud.
And she bore him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
Interesting, because most versions do not use the word "stranger". (http://bible.cc/exodus/2-22.htm) So if Barack Obama plays the Michael Valentine Smith part, who is Lazarus Long and who are the Witnesses?
In any event, it does not read like the essay author read the book by Heinlein. No idea about the Bible version either.
Not much there is there? Just a fascination with his eccentric childhood experiences and his slightly above average intelligence which he hasn't realized is not unique and amazing.
“One is almost inside of Obamas head after reading this.”
Then maybe you can tell me. What the heck is a “structural feminist?”
Bummer’s idea of a good presidency might well coincide with the American people’s idea of a bad presidency. Ram stuff down our throat, or as the Witch said, kick the door in.
Bummer might have a lot to share under hypothetical circumstances where he hadn’t been molded into a good little marxist automaton.
I went to her site, and it appears she follows the Reconstructionist Jewish movement. Jewish translation of the Old Testament into English I’m familiar with seems to follow closely after the KJV, varying only for passages impacting upon theological differences between Judaism and Christianity. I’d say she got it from the Bible and is not familiar with Heinlein.
varying only => varying mainly
He learned a good street hustle, which he spoke of doing naturally in his books, and perfected in Occidental, Columbia and Harvard then in community activism and with high stakes hustlers like Rezko. From that his narcissism got a big adrenalin shot.
Then came the ego shot from his rise in politics. Intellectually he doesn't believe in the adulation from the masses or his close associates. They are people and people let you down as his childhood taught him. But emotionally he totally buys it because he knows how amazing he is. So he likely has even more contempt for his fans than he does for his critics even though he doesn't show it.
Structural feminist theory focuses on social structures, notably patriarchy and capitalism that oppress women
(from the second hit I got on Google for this)
Yet she doesn’t sound like the typical grievance monger.
And a f’n idiot!
Just speculating, I've wondered if the next step on his list is Sec-Gen of the UN. About as close to king of the world as it gets in title.
...”All grown up, unattached adults may lack empathy and, in extreme cases, a conscience”...
Attachment Disorder is a definite possibility. Obama’s unstable, early childhood certainly put him at risk for that.
But the first sentence of the piece is, “For much of my life, I felt like a Stranger in a Strange Land,” and he uses the Stranger term several more times referring to obama. Hard NOT to write that headline.
All of this being true - he is one dangerous m-fer
I don’t particularly care where the title came from; it’s very accurate, because he really is an unmoored, unstable, self-centered individual looking for something to give him an identity.
He picked a Marxist-influenced black power persona first, and I think over the years has been moving towards an Islam-based “Third World Avenger” image. He identifies as a foreigner, a non-American, somehow a product of the Muslim Third World, and I think he sees his position in the WH as the ultimate revenge on the US, a place he has never loved or respected as his home.
