Sad that he has be dragged out the senate kicking and screaming. He’s 76, why not enjoy some time in retirement?

I was thinking the same thing. Although I’m not sure how that would play out in Utah. So much for Romney’s pull. I understand he was backing Bennett.

Even though I am happy to see Bennett go, Republican voters should be making the decision, not party hacks. We can’t complain about the controversial New York special congressional election and then stay silent in this case only because the party guys did the right thing.

He can’t. The deadline has passed for being able to file as an Independent.

drag his a$$ out! He is a classic example of what the RNC/GOP has become. Making back door deal with Democrats, caving in and ignoring the base...for years! Their main goal was to pass bills....regardlees of the wishes of the people who elect them!

Think that old Bob might try a Charlie Crist on us? Only as a write-in candidate.
To: Oldhunk
I’ve long felt the same way in Minnesota. Party activists decide who’ll receive the party’s blessing thru a precinct caucus system.
But unlike Utah, any candidate who does not get party endorsement in Minnesota can go directly to the primary.
