“Will he leave?”
I doubt it...he’ll just keep scurrying under the fridge when the lights come on.

I would bet that there are a lot of criminals in our society that would love to “avoid a potentially humiliating public trial.”

If the 4 Republicans on the Ethics CMTE go along with this,FReepers should send cash to any tea party candidate opposing them. Unless Charlie resigns or is thrown out, and faces criminal prosecution, we will know the rules are different for certain classes of people in the country. If you are black and an elite politician, you can get away with anything. It took years to get rid of Cold Cash Jefferson and send him to prison, and he was blatantly solicting bribes. Ol Charlie looks like he is using the CBC to play the race card in order to save his butt.

What kind of deal would have been cut for a congressman with the letter ‘R’ preceding his name?
Further - why cut anyone a deal?

This means that there was one committee Repubic that consented to this dirty deal. Soooo dumb! Why not hold out for the trial and make political hay?

What about the real trial? You know, the one for tax evasion and fraud - the one that is tried in a court of law in front of a jury of the people? What about that trial?

Will he leave? That is the only deal I can think of that can help the RATS keep power.

” they have been told that the details could be unveiled when the House Ethics Committee meets Thursday afternoon “
‘Could be’... Or, could NOT be....
Or, more likely, there’s a ‘public’ deal that will be meaningless, and a ‘private’ sweetheart deal that we’ll never see....
