A slimy deal was inevitable. The slimeball Rats are panicked about what’s going to happen to them this November. No doubt they’ve brought in the big guns to force Charlie to heel: probably some really damaging pictures of him committing unspeakable acts and/or meaningful threats of DOJ prosecution along with actual jail time.

Of course. The Dems were NEVER going to let this play out in court, and Rangel knew it. I’m sure he was playing hardball.
You won't find a jury in either his district or in DC which would covict him.
