This is the issue. Perhaps a counselor would be helpful.
Maybe you should have phrased it that way instead of implying that greedy doctors are keeping Granny alive on life support just for their “payday”.
Should Granny have an advanced directive? Yes.
Should the greedy doctors ask Granny what she wants when she is admitted? Yes.
Did I read the article? Yes.
I did.
And Dr. Ira Byock is a well known shill for the hospice industry.
Hospice used to be a very good thing, and there are still great people in the field, but its been taken over by the culture of death advocates.
Great post.
I am so glad you caught that bit with Byock trying to push-poll that patient into agreeing to die. Despicable. (I saw this last night and couldn’t believe 60 Minutes left that in to tip their hand on the agenda.)
The slick trick the care rationing advocates are pulling over on the taxpaying public is to conflate all end of life care with the outrageous amounts of waste and fraud rampant in Medicare and Medicaid.
This is a problem. The health care system is geared more to seeing patients as revenue generators than as people to be healed. In short, it is not in the healthcare providers interest to fix the problem, but to put you on a long term care plan to keep the money coming in.
cbs attended Terri’s torture and extermination. That’s all it takes to be an expert on offing innocent people.
