Regardless of the idiotic focus of this story...They hold the new governor’s swearing in ceremony on DECEMBER 7TH?? Couldn’t they have changed that date there in Hawaii? I mean, that seems a bit disrespectful, considering the horrible and tragic events of the past that anniversary date holds for the U.S. Does it have to be held on that date?

I don't mind at all being mean to such a person. It's not a matter of being cool. He despises what this country stands for. We're in a non-shooting war with these people.
Native Hawaiians (whatever THAT means, other than having nonwhite or nonAsian skin) are officially empowered by openly racist laws to receive preferential treatment from the government.

If research proves that directors of vital records in Hawaii have NOT routinely been changed then I conclude the following:
Fukino was immediately fired because the new governor did not in any way want to be involved in what could eventually be a criminal matter.
I had the non pleasure of having to do some investigative work in Hawaii, out in the hinterlands, around the time of Reagan’s innaugeration. I had experience doing such work in the inner cities in the north east US before then. The degree of anamosity toward “main landers”, or caucasians in general was beyond what I had experienced in the inner cities working within the black and Cuban communities. Yeah, I am sure Hawaii was a paradise before WW2 but had I known what I see now, I would have ceded it to Japan assuming we could lease Pearl back from them (before they attacked of course).
