Are you and Rush against the mandate requiring all group health plans to cover any pre-existing condition subsequent to an exclusionary period of 12 months?
Rush' critique doesn't persuade. If life were regarded as a pre-existing condition, insurance companies wouldn't insure anyone living.
Monsters!
What she’s also ignoring is that her program providing insurance for those who can’t get coverage due to pre-existing conditions has very few participants. And what’s also being conveniently left out is the difference between the need for coverage and the desire for free coverage. It’s the latter she’s peddling, and, as the old saying goes, the market for free stuff is infinite.
Amazing timing. Just in time for for the hearings on the Hill.
Healthy people shouldn't have to subsidize your health care!
That’s exactly the way it should be. Many people take care of themselves when it comes to their health and many people don’t, those that do should not foot the bill for the abusers.
Where does Sebelius get these figures? Does she just pull them out of her ass?
I can easily picture her in jackboots with a vicious German Shepherd at her side.
I’d say that’s closer to the truth than getting them from a new analysis, of course I’m sure one is as accurate as the other.
I have high blood pressure and I have been turned down by every insurance company I have applied to over the last ten years because of that pre-existing condition.
Requiring companies to insure people like me get coverage is the only way I will get health insurance from the companies I’ve applied to.
Kind of hard for me to get enthusiastic about repealing that mandate since it is literally a life-or-death decision for me...
Something has to be done about the tens of millions of people like myself who CANNOT get health insurance due to pre-existing conditions.
I know there are some here whose opinion is “well, let those people die if they don’t have $100,000 saved up for when they get a stroke,” but that seems way too barbaric for me, even if I could get coverage.
