The conerstone of the Obamacare is that insurance is not offered across state lines.

WOuld be a big mistake for Senator to oppose what his state legislature is passing to protect that state, I would presume.
Interesting move on Virginia’s part.

Hehehe...this would include, of course, any firearms made in, and exclusively sold in the state.

Exactly. I often analogize it as the Fed being like a management company hired by the States to oversee the maintenance of the Union.

It’s going to be very interesting as these kinds of cases wind their way through the federal judiciary and eventually to the Supreme Court. Upholding a few of them would cause a seismic shift in the way Washington does things.

Can 0bama order an invasion of this insurrectionist state? It would have to be an armed insurrection. But you're probably being sarcastic.

Lots of hooting and hollering, but what exactly does this piece of legislation actually do for the people of VA?

Mee too, I was born in VA, but consider myself a North Carolinian.
I saw a tin foil hat theory yesterday that said this was the plan all along. Get Americans so angry we take up arms, he declares martial law and declares himself President for life. The military would split, and that would be that.

There is no language in the commerce clause that extends federal power to regulate “the people” as that critical term has been defined by other amendments and case law.
