That is what the founding fathers tried to prevent when they
wrote Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution.
Natural Born meant that “BOTH” the parents
and their offspring owed no allegiance to any foreign
powers or governments.
So why do we need a law?

Somebody’s not telling the truth. If he knew nothing of an investigation, then why did he resign? I doubt he did it willingly because if he had, he would say he was resigning to spend more time with his 6 kids or something like that. By not giving at least a token reason - even if it’s a lie - he shows something is screwy.
Maybe Abercrombie told him to resign and he said he would only on the condition that he not be investigated. So he’s not giving a reason lest he lose his bargaining power, and they’re not saying whether or not he’s being investigated lest they lose THEIR bargaining power. I don’t know. But something is up. If he was going willingly he would have given some excuse and nobody would think twice about this.
We all worked very hard to do that a couple months ago. We did what we could, but you can only get rid of part of Congress at a time. To finish the job takes more time. When the campaign for 2012 comes around we’ll be all over it, but in the meantime this is what we can do now. If we do it right, the 2012 campaign can be very, very effective.
Who is going to pass it?

I’m hoping the state legislators are more in tune with the people because they’re not in the DC media cesspool. These people live in our communities; they’re not full-time politicians. Who knows whether they’ll do what’s right either, but they’re our best chance at this point.
The presidential natural-born citizen requirement in Article II, section 1, clause 5 of our Constitution is our country’s equivalent of a double set of watertight doors on a submarine.
How else can one safely enter and exit a submarine (without flooding it) while the craft is fully submerged?
How else can a country fully and completely protect itself from foreign influences?
