I’m so very proud of my daughter: She has never had any TV connections since her first was born in 1996. She’s a good mama!! Thankfully, my SIL goes along with it.
Still, with all of the girls’ peers being indoctrinated, what kind of a world will it be for them?

They cut money going to National Endowment for Artsy-Fartsy too.
Yes! If I had to cut out my daughter’s ballet classes over money, dancers can feel some pain, too. And I’m a fan of ballet.

Blumenauer ... says public broadcasting is a necessity to America's youth. The purpose of a show like Sesame Street is to teach our youngest and most vulnerable how to operate a remote control and how to sit and watch. TV is for all intents and purposes evil, and destructive to the discourse of society.

Oh man thank makes really depressed no more Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Bert and Ernie. ( truly I am not depressed I am ecstatic). Also NPR will be gone too, man this even more depressing. Gee, my case load will now increase the psych patients will no longer be able to learn their ABCs and 123s. The classical music and that irritating news reporting from NPR will be gone too. The national endowment for the Arts is losing funding too. Boy I will have to start a second office just to accommodate the overflow of all the new patients I will be getting whom will be undergoing severe psychosis for the lack PBS and NPR Fund Drives. ( Please get rid of the Labor day Jerry Lewis MD Telethon - I am so sick of them ).

That would probably be the reason we see Newt fans ridiculing and criticizing this effort.

Jeez, there are HUNDREDS of television channels. If PBS can’t compete, then they can either become weaned off the government teat or starve.

How is the Senate a problem in this particular instance. I thought the House controlled all spending.

I hope I’m wrong, but the Senate and Prez have to sign off on it.

If the House doesn’t appropriate money for a line-item then it isn’t in the budget. There’s nothing for anyone to veto.

Hey genuis the whole budget is a mass of lots of little things...as if millions and billions can be called “little”. Just the arrogance of a Congressperson who would call that little is astounding.

Let the leftist maggots squirm on the open market!
Time for all of their liberal cheerleaders and viewers will open up their wallets, checkbooks and big bleeding hearts and give them wads and wads of cash! Libs always like to boast about how much they care, now they can prove it.

Newt and his boys tried to do it in 95 and the dems did commercials of little kids crying, Don't kill Big Bird. My understanding is that the saviors of NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting were actually the Republican Senatorial wives.
The GOP Senators were reminded every morning and every evening how important it was that "Big Bird" be saved...for the chillrun.

PBS is defended by barb wire, sandbags and claymore mines and lots and lots of machine guns.
Most states can end their relation with PBS anytime but they want. States control the public TV in almost all states.
Any Republican Governor can Bring public tv to heel but will not
