Correct...
“It’s OK, they’ve been issued shoes...”
If they’re fighting for this CINC, it would be more appropriate if they had flip-flops...
Irrelevant. A President can do this type of thing and many of them have done it. The question is whether he has the guts to go against his own party. I don’t think he does and he’s already looking for a way out.
They must be being re-deployed from Darfur. /s
Eric better get right on this.
This President ticks me off.
It started out with “advisers” in Viet Nam, 1961.
Of course, the mission has no leader, no goal, no exit strategy but by all means lets put troops on the ground to fight with Islamic rebels who would probably like to shoot our guys in the back as fight with them.
excellent
Your copy must be missing the same page mine is.
This President is a tick.
That lesson was first learned in Vietnam in the 1960’s. It was relearned in Serbia in the 1990’s. And again in Iraq less than a decade ago.
Unfortunately, this operational military reality has never been learned at the various schools of government run by Ivory League Colleges and think tanks. Until it is learned and remembered the liberal/progressive/socialist/dimocratic elements of the American political system will always believe that military power, air, sea, or land, can be used to “enforce” peace and “protect” civilians.
It ain't going to happen folks!
Obama Lies.
Well, looks like I won a bet.
Some Obama supporter at my work bet me that we wouldn’t send troops.
I didn’t bet any money, though. Our uniformed heroes deserve better.
I’ll pray for their safety, and hope that the guy at work is thinking twice about his support for Obama.
I still think he’s going to use “marines” and “the shores of Tripoli” in the same sentence soon.
While that may be true it appears this is a boots on the ground type of force.
Of course they are already being called baby killers by the NYT:
Marines Face Questions About Rescue of Officers in Libya

Reagan had to be diplomatic with his words. I don't; here's my policy:
"Radical Muslims killing Radical Muslims. Perfect. Our policy is to contain this to the Middle East, agitate it where we can and above all, DO NOT interrupt them."
There are already 2 amphibious LHD’s off the coast with around 800 Marines and 80 helicopters.
.....but we’re not at war.
