I respectfully disagree. Cryer functions as the framework of the show, the comedic foil for 80% of the jokes and 100% of Charlie’s insanity. I would compare his role to Jason Alexander in Seinfeld. Jason had the acting chops that permitted the others to go crazy in their well written vignettes.

I doubt the show will continue but only the immature teens will actually care. The replacement may or may not continue the series. Can’t imagine why this actually matters.
