I didn’t read thoroughly enough and made assumptions. Thanks to all who pointed out my error.
She’s a Texan!
****leaving your children motherless over 3 cases of beer hardly seems like a wise decision; *****
The other question might be to the perps. Is it worth killing or injuring someone, with the possibility of prison or jail time, for three cases of beer?
She was fighting the death of the society that her children are going to inherit...
I fully understand. She got fed up with these thugs that have no regard for civilized folk and no desire to live in a civilized society.
I don't think she was after the beer, she was trying to stop something wrong from happening. Police are engaged with criminals all the time who are stealing things of little value, and they get paid for it. This women saw something happening that she knew to be wrong and she tried to stop it. I greatly admire her for that.
Once confronted, they're no longer fighting for the merchandise; they're fighting for their freedom (from jail). That's why I tell my daughter who works for Claire's retail, that if you corner an animal they're going to fight back -- hard. It's not worth your life to save a store's merchandise.
She is a very, very stupid mom! I am not the least bit proud of her. She has something loose in her head to do this!
Here in Texas, a young 20-something waitress was killed when she tried to stop a trio who had skipped out on a big bar tab (Bennigan’s, Irving Texas). She did exactly the same thing, she chased the perps and wound up on top of the car.
Then she was thrown off and died, as the perps sped away. I doubt her parents would have advised her to do what she did. She lost her life for what?
And she saved no one’s life. A complete waste.
I’m all for having the courage to stand up against evil, but at some point you have to weigh risks and ask if this is the hill you want to die on.
Her life was worth wayyy more than a bar tab. IMHO
She reminds me of the so-called “hero” a few years back who risked his life (he was a store clerk) to look for a bomb in the shaving-cream aisle at the store where he worked. Everyone else had (wisely) evacuated.
He didn’t leave it to the bomb squad, he literally risked his own life and limb to save...what, a baby? a person in danger?....no...store products, which were insured. He placed that little value on his own life.
In my opinion, that was very foolhardy, not “heroic.”
And even this lady said she wouldn’t jump on the car again, she might push a basket in front of them. At least she gained some perspective.
please see posts #28 and 29.
“She was fighting the death of the society that her children are going to inherit...”
The tragedy of this is that the filthy scum will be released before we have finished reading the article. Thanks Eric.
No comments on her last name? I guess my age is showing, since that popped out to me. I have intervened in similar crimes simply because stealing is wrong, and I understand her reaction completely (except for the tackling a car bit) as well as her desire to live up to Lucy Lawless's reputation . . .
“This women saw something happening that she knew to be wrong and she tried to stop it. I greatly admire her for that. “
I’m with you on that.
