...bloody hell!!!

People may see the current “conservative” caot he is wearing...But you still have to check his bloomers...

Which I am not inclined to do...But he has a democrat party past, and he has in recent years had slips in his conservatism on a few issues...

There might be a slight chance that a Perry/Palin ticket, if it were to ever occur, might be the undoing of Obama and his minions...And I might be very amiable to that type of ticket...

But we’ll have to see...The declared Republican candidates are already producing a “ho-hum” reaction from the populace...

the un-announced are already being vilified by the democrats and their media, even before they declare...

So, if anyone believes that 2012 is a shoe in for our side...

Hehehe, I got some ocena front property in Arizona I wanna sell ya...

Comptroller: Texas’ Budget is Balanced
State Comptroller Susan Combs has certified that the state’s $152.5 billion two-year budget is balanced.
Reporter: Associated Press

AUSTIN, Texas — State Comptroller Susan Combs has certified that the state’s $152.5 billion two-year budget is balanced.

She then handed the budget off to Governor Rick Perry for expected trims.

Combs spokesman R.J. DeSilva says the comptroller’s ruling came with little fanfare on Tuesday. She finds that the state will collect enough taxes and earn enough on investments to cover the budget’s proposed spending.

The comptroller confirms there will be slightly more than $80.1 billion in state revenues over the next two years. Federal and other funds are expected to supply another $72.4 billion.

Perry has until June 17 to sign or veto bills. The governor can wield a line-item veto over spending.

Perry demanded that higher education “special items” be listed separately so he could decide whether they’re necessary. Some were listed separately, but not all, and he’s expected to delete some items he deems to be wasteful

Putting it that way, of course begs the question...

Obama, second term??? Or...

Putting something nearly completely opposite in the WH???

In my opinion, with the exception of Romney, the current crop of “declared” candidates on the Republican side of the aisle, plus the “un-declared” caste of potentials...

Any one of those, would be a far sight better than having to deal with another 4 years of Obama...

Just thought I would state the obvious...

So far, Bachman and Cain most closely represent my views.

Palin, who hasn’t announced yes or no yet, is my preferred choice.

Rick Perry will kick Obama’s butt, shoot him up with Gardasil and send him south on a Mexican truck.

Reagan had great hair too, is that now a sin?

The point was, no one is perfect. If you look hard enough at a politicians record you will ALWAYS find stuff you disagree with.

No, the point is that Rick Perry is STILL an Open-Borders supporter, not a reformed Border Hawk, not somebody that has seen the light, but somebody who speaks out of both sides of his mouth on the issue hoping that he can convince enough people he is somebody he is not.

And there are a few posters here on FreeRepublic who are more than willing to participate in the scam.

Furthermore, trying to make excuses for Governor Perry's bad choices, his bad policy positions, and bad statements by pointing to someone else who is revered and not including the full context of each of those actions is just crap.

Let Perry and his supporters be Men(figuratively) and let his own record stand and fall on it's own merits.

Texas has a business friendly climate, because of low taxes and regulations. Texas created more jobs than half the country put together.

lol

you can complain all you wish, but unless you are pushing for a viable alternative you are accomplishing nothing.

I am suspect of the motives of all these people that come onto the boards and complain about all our candidates. If you have a candidate that is actually running (or is generally considered to be about to enter the race) that actually has a chance in hell of winning that you support please say so. But just coming on here and complaining about candidate X is not productive.

In the end ONE of these candidates is going to be our candidate whether they are perfect to you or not.

Reagan did LOTS of things that by YOUR standards would disqualify him as our candidate today.

1. Reagan raised taxes MANY times, both as governor and as president.
2. Reagan as governor signed into law a liberalization of abortion that led to an explosion of abortions in California.
3. Reagan granted amnesty to millions.
4. Reagan was a huge spender, the size and cost of government increased dramatically under him both in California and nationwide.

These are the facts. You can make excuses for these facts, just as I am sure Perry supporters can make excuses for some of the not so conservative things he has done or tried to do. Actually THAT is a good point, come to think of it, MANY if not most of the things Perry is accused of never actually happened. Think about it... Trans Texas Corridor... never happened. Gardacil ... never happened. And what about the illegal issue... hum... Perry has TALKED many times about trying to do some sort of amnesty / comprehensive emigration reform, he has TALKED about how states like Arizona had gone to far... but what has he actually DONE .... hm... everything he has actually DONE has been against the illegal emigrants that I am aware of.

So... everything you have a beef with him about are just things he proposed or said, nothing that he actually implemented do you have a problem with... that sounds like a good people representative to me! He has a bad idea... and upon further reflection decides not to pursue it further. Isn't that the kind of politician you want representing you? No politician is ever going to be right about everything every time. What you want is one that LISTENS to us and changes his mind or gives up.

I see Perry, based on his actions as governor, as George Bush the Third.

Mitt Romney is that you? The cry of nearly every Romneybot or other RINO that pushes their commie candidate on this site has been ‘love our RINO candidate because he is just like Reagan.’ They slander Reagan saying he was pro-choice like their baby killing candidate, which was an outright lie. Or that Reagan loved amnesty like their sovereignty hating, open borders candidate. Reagan understood our borders needed to be defended. The dems and the open border RINO friends hate our borders and want to lavish illegals with everything free thing the rising US debt can offer.

The fact that not one of you can defend is that Rick Perry IS an open borders, amnesty RINO. He was a democrat and even as a republican he recently supported one of the most socially liberal candidates in the republican party. Conservatives don’t do that.

There was no guile or equivocating in Ronald Reagan. He did not hide his true nature because he knew it turned voters off. He didn’t have to because what you see in him is exactly what you got. Every election cycle Perry changes his stripes. He knows that no one as liberal as he is will ever win the republican nomination openly.

So go and support your amnesty loving, open borders RINO for president, but be honest about what he really is.

I’ve been skimming this thread and I’m tending to agree with you. We gotta get O’bummer out of the WH and I think Rick Perry could do it. As much as I like Sarah Palin, I just don’t think she could beat the douchebag that is currently in office.
