Back during the Bush Jr era while everyone was sipping the Kool Aide the Bush Administration was starting us down the road of government databases on everything from our surfing to our health records. Some of it was done in the name of the war on terrorism which has turned into a war on our privacy and Constitutional rights and protections. What stinks the worse in this is the GOP is using the DEMs favorite excuse it's for the children.
If any LEO agency wants to crack down on Kiddie Porn fine. There are ways to do it without walking all over everyones rights including doing what many agencies do simply by surfing the web for the distributors which is the only way to actually stop it anyhow.
Today we are paying a price for a lot of Bush W.O.T. bad policies everything from DHS to TSA. Everyone was too drunk on the "Our Party is in both house and White House forever" Kool Aide that not many were saying hey these are real bad precedents which could be turned against us in one election cycle.
Neither GW Bush nor the two house GOP majority he had for 6 years did us any real favors but rather made policies to make us slaves of the state. That era can best be described as the Republicans own Jimmy Carter Years.
The 19 to 10 vote represents a victory for conservative Republicans,
???WTH???
“The 19 to 10 vote represents a victory for conservative Republicans,
************************************
This is NOT a conservative victory, but a progressive one.”
Agreed we need to get the names of theses republicans to notify them of their traitorous status.
How terribly sad. In many ways, they are as great a threat as their authoritarian counterparts across the aisle are.
Big Brother sure seems to be popular with both major parties. Screw them both...

Excellent observation and excellent tagline...
You are wise. Yes, it does tend to flag you.
But a lot of people are using it now so that does help.
Your concern is one of the reasons the gov fought hard to keep net traffic unencrypted. They had to let SSL alone to facilitate web commerce. It would be so simple to have had the net fully encrypted...same story as with cell phones...they were terrified of strong encryption being used in that industry.
Thanks, I’ll bear that in mind.
Heck, yes I have TOR. DL most stuff via bit-torrent with one of the best paid anonymizers on the web. VPN is the future.
For the time being I plan on just letting people continue to see where I’m going (whether it’s any of their business or not). I appreciate the link, though, and will keep it in mind if I ever decide to use an anonymizer.
I guess over-reaching "law & order" fascist databases are now "conservative" in the media lexicon.
I can't believe I might agree with Zoe Lofgren on anything.

Don’t worry. I’m working on my software program “disinformationU”. It’s going to randomly browse the web from you’re computer at random times so they won’t know if you really looked up how to plant celery or if you looked up moving into a treehouse.

Thank you and sadly accurate.
God help us all.
There were several purges on FR regarding comments like those. Lot's of good FReepers who saw the writing on the wall but the KAD's hounded them out of here.
