so ...it came out the Davie Jones locker ?
I’d use that excuse too
LMAO
Oh yeah! Granny loves Bristol.
OTOH, Grampie says he ain’t ever takin me there again cause he lost his hearing for 3 days after the last time!
Gotta go pick my drivers now. Lovin the 88 ain’t doin bad this season!
You haven’t heard of the Racin Form I sell every week?
I know, huh!
Down at the local gunrunner shop, the foam earplugs are less than a buck (or you could steal gramps' hearing aid batteries. (They're not as comfy compared to the foam plugs, though). At least that's what Tork tells me.
LOL - If I buy your racin form am I guaranteed to move somewhere - either up or down in the ratings? ROFL. I’ve done better this year than ever before.
We also have a family league which provides a nice way to stay in touch with family members spread from Maine to Washington state with stop offs all the way down to Florida and across to Arizona. In other years I’ve kept charts, studies stats, and worked on my picks every week. This year I’m busy - flyin’ by the seat of my pants. I figured out I ain’t good at that studyin stuff.
Oh My! Thanks for posting the right end of the horse! :-)
500 laps = 1,000 left turns. Giddyup!
My best advise came from Glock when he told me to not change my picks for several weeks...
Should not make sport of his hearing issue.... but we left the track and started walking to the truck and were both completely unaware of his loss of hearing.
He did have foam plugs BTW. He does have hearing issues... AND when he rides his Harley he can never hear for a while after he stops. But, I was excited. I had seen races at Bristol so wasn’t thinking of Grampa hearing issues.
The year we were there it began to rain when the race ended. Walking out it began to rain harder. I have trouble walking sometimes from old injuries and of course weather makes it worse. I was havin’ trouble walkin. People drove by us several times offering rides, some for money, some because they could see me struggling. Grampa kept ignorring them. Of course, it was dark, we were in the rain, hundreds of other people walking out so that clouded things too. But, everytime someone asked if we wanted a ride, I looked at him and said, “Can we ride with them.” He never answered me. We ended up walking all the way to our truck, not bad, maybe a mile, before accident I coulda done that asleep. When we got to the truck a guy camping next to us was talking and at that point was when Gramp realized he was stone deaf.
His hearing didn’t come back for 3 days. We were a little worried but we have had laugh after laugh about that. I looked over at him after my first post on the thread and told him I wanted to go somewheres this weekend. “Okay, where ya wanna go.” LOL - I said, “Bristol!” He says, “yer goin by yourself.”
Nice memory of that trip to Bristol also was that the grandkids in Alabama saw us on Raceday! ~grin~
Ya. Best evidence that we're all psychic. Never fails, don't change picks and have the best week of the month. LOL
Did you get Glock’s photo of his new girlfriend?
Great stuff.
Warning, I plan to be here for the most fun race of the season.
I'm deaf on one side, so I was only half heartedly funnin... great story, thank you!
I knowed you was funnin. LOL...
At least the thread tonight got another good laugh here in our house tonight over the hearing at Bristol. If someone had video taped us that night we’d be a youtube comedy hit.
I’ve been told that if we go to another Bristol race he’ll be wearing his shootin’ ear protection.
LOL. Pete and I will likely be wearing shooting protection to watch the race, and we'll be on my deck, a few thousand miles away :o)
LOL - Are ya’ll shootin?
I guess I’ll be sittin here in my same old chair to watch this one too. I seriously doubt I’ll get Lloyd to go to another Bristol race after that one.
OTOH, he really liked going to Darlington, so I’m hoping maybe to go back there next year.
Hope you and Pete have an excellent race watching visit. Sounds like good company.
Awwww man, no. I’m afraid to ask ...
I wonder how many cars would be left if they ran 500 miles instead of 500 laps?
Any cars still running would not have any sheet metal left. Just like your local dirt track on any Friday night. Weird weather here as it didn’t get below 60 degrees overnight. Left a late night note for my house guest that it was earthquake weather...
