In February we are heading down to South Carolina to check out the real estate market. I’ve finally got hubby open to moving, at least part of the year.
Condo’s are looking better and better....
Yep! I’m from Warren County but own a small business in Sussex County.
30 miles from Ann Arbor? I grew up in Ypsi!
I’m in southeastern Jackson county near Brooklyn.
I only hope all the libs leave Cali...then I can have my state back!
Yeah, I know that republications hold both houses for the time being here, but with good old bug-eye Dayton and how MN generally works, it won't be too long before we do have the highest income tax in the nation, surpassing CA.
The amount of people I have heard, even in the conservate area of MN that we live in, who say the rich need to pay their fair share, makes me think it won't be much longer before we drop into full socialism.
So hubby just got a job in Wyoming --- YEAH !!!
Now Minnesota is beautiful in so many ways, but we've had enough. So long MN, state of my birth --- what the heck ever happened to you ??
Congrats! I would love to live in Wyoming!
Be careful. Condo Associations and Gated Community HOAs in SC are run by Northern transplants - Democrat Dictators who belittle Southern hospitality and try to impose Northern nasties.
Trust me;)
Boeing vs NLRB
“During the bad-old-days of the Cold War so many people tried to leave East Germany that the Communists built a wall to keep them in. The world rightly took that gesture as evidence of failure and corruption in the Stalinist system.”
Thanks for the heads up!
Because a couple of generations of Americans have figured out what anyone with a sense of history already knows. That is, socialism does not work. Socialism has a 100% failure rate at making happy, prosperous, free societies. In fact, anyone that understands people, economics, and has an IQ above room temperature can figure out in about 5 minutes that socialism can never work.
Maybe the younger generation(s) are figuring this out the hard way. Maybe the older generation(s) have finally had enough.
Hey, I'm part of that. About 7-8 years ago I moved from a decidedly blue state to a red one - because I had lost my job and we couldn't afford the taxes anymore either. I don't miss that area, and would never go back.
—I hear you—I thought it was pretty good around Truckee, Tahoe City , etc., about thirty years ago—Inyo County would be okay , too——
Look at most of South Florida.....they brought their liberal thinking with them.
Be prepared for warmer weather...
You’ll be sooorrrry!
Yeah ... here in Texas the domestic partner is prone to say that we’ve guarded the wrong border.
(if, in fact, we’ve guarded any border)
Agree with you. Having liberals invade a conservative state is troublesome. Pretty soon they invade the politics and want their views represented. Its easy for them to spend other peoples money. It makes them feel good.
But it destroys the lives of everyone else around them. It's a pretty selfish way to live their lives If you ask me. It's all about them.
New folks in these parts seem to adapt to the local scene or move on.
We offer low taxes, low cost of living, good fishing year round plus turkey and deer hunting ( and pheasants north of here.)
What’s not to like ?
