Schumer just won reelection last year, the GOP didn’t bother to run a serious candidate against him (or Gillibrand). NY is stuck with him until (at least) 2017.
Well just darn! Maybe Chuck has a Twitter account too?
Gillibrand is the one to be worried, aint she up again in 2012.
But, but, but, . . . the media polls show the public doesn’t like Republicans any more than Democrats, even less, . . . but, but, but, . . . how come they don’t vote that way??????
At least after 2012 we can make them back benchers.
I'd also like to see some reporter interview people with Obama bumper stickers on their cars and ask: "Are you still proud of yourself?"
I do not believe there is one.
This Nevada district has been very reliably Republican for a very long time, I’m not a Dim. has ever held this seat.
That does not mean it should be taken for granted, the margin in Washoe county was closer than I like, only about 10%.
Some of our truly rural counties were more like 75/25. ;-)
Where the NY race was a referendum on Obammie, this one was a renunciation of Harry Reid.
Had Kate Marshall won, “Pinky” Reid would have essentially had a seat in both houses, Marshall would have been his hand puppet.
Thanks for your Post #3. I tho’t he would win but I had not heard. So happy.
Yes, this was a rebuke of Obama but there I found it interesting that the dems threw every strategy they will employ in the 2012 elections at Turner, namely, he was a Tea Partier, that the Tea Party is responsible for the economy and near default of the nation, that the Tea Party has held America hostage, that the Republicans want to end social security, etc. etc. It all failed and shows that the candidates running for POTUS should not back down or cower (are you listening Mitt Rino) from calling social security what it is or any other program for that matter.
I also think this shows clearly that the special election in upstate NY was not a sign that the “throwing grandma off of a cliff” was a winning strategy for the dems. Rather, it was the “run a fake Tea Party Candidate” strategy that worked there.
“Erections have consequences.”
I’ll wager Obama just lost his!
Yes, but it still appears she will not have a serious opponent. The NY GOP gave a pass to both the Senate seats and the Governorship last year.
Wasn’t Barney Frank’s “seat vacated by Weiner” just earlier this evening?
I’m not a Pataki fan, but that Gillibrand race is perfect for him.
OUCH. That one’s definitely gonna leave a mark :)
Yeah, I’m not a fan, either, but you’re right in that he should’ve run. Giuliani similarly should’ve run for Governor. Both of them had these peculiar notions that they should run for President (Pataki came close to declaring a month or so ago until someone explained reality to him). The only currently declared GOP candidate for next year is the Nassau County (Long Island) Comptroller, George Maragos.
What's the difference between "Barney Frank" and your refrigerator?
I don't know, what?
Your refrigerator doesn't fart when you take the sausage out.
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!
8^D
Welcome to my world, dummass!
For the last 10 years I have had to abadon bumper stickers and go with removable rear window stickers.
Remember, "progressives" live in a classless society!
That's one thing dems do much better than us ...No one does pity party better than a dem.
