We should have learned our lesson from McCain. The Media is not a conservatives friend....Letting them pick our Canidate is stupid. Hopefully the constant drum beat of Romney/Perry are the only choices will not unduly influence voters.

I love this site and the last thing I would want is a political pissing match with Jim Robinson over this election. But if you are determined to use Free Republic to actively work to defeat any man who would dethrone Øbama, this is going to be an interesting—albeit lonely place.

With declarations like the original post, you’re absolutely correct. Just like 4 years ago, and just look at America now.
The point is that many, like myself, have been doing that in the real world, which is what matters most and which is not in any way lessened by Free Republic sign up date.

That is the problem...they appear to be Perry or Cain supporters but they are Romney supporters. So now I’m being attacked because I am stating what I have been seeing. IF you don’t think we have Romney supporters here disguised as either or then you aren’t aware of the dirty, evil tricks and ways of the Romney campaign. They match how the left operates.
Romney’s motivation is because he believes he is fulfilling a prophecy by Joseph Smith (which was actually about Smith’s run for POTUS in 1844) to save the country. That and it is a stepping stone for godhood. No, I am not kidding.
If Romney is the best the GOP has to offer, then I’m no longer GOP. It’s not that I’ve left the GOP, the GOP has left me. Hope they’re not thinking they need a big turnout.
The error in your logic is that a Romney win will satisfy the country that the Obama agenda has been stopped. Nothing could be further from the truth.
You see, the Obama agenda is actually more than him, he is a puppet for the radical democrat socialist movement.
President Romney will not roll back any of Obama’s “gains”.
All it would mean is that we hold the wheel for 4 or 8 years,,and then the dems continue their interrupted revolution.
But if Romney LOSES, the opposition stays hungry and angry. Maybe they turn their attention to reforming the GOP.
Im no longer a fan of the death of 1000 cuts that the GOP keeps giving me. The game is over,,I will no longer watch the GOP stab me in the back with Crist, Murkowski, Scozzafava, etc. I will no longer be patient as the party leadership openly attacks Sarah,. TEA, and Rand Paul,, and then smiles slyly and says, “well,, you might not like us, but the other guy is even worse”.
If the GOP establishment successfully pushes Romney to the front, they are openly saying that they DO NOT need my vote. That, or that they have no respect for me whatsoever.
