Gee, that's what my wife says about every kind of food...the British version tastes better. The fact is, I've tasted British food, and while it's not too bad, I couldn't discern any particular taste advantage over Yank food.
Here's some advice, if you ever visit Britain, you might not want to order steak. Unless, of course, you can afford to eat at the swankier restaurants. The best food I ate in Britain was in Scotland. They have a fabulous fast food fish place in Aberdeen called Mike's Famous Fish or something like that. In Inverness, if you want a steak, you might try The Mustard Seed. Pretty good steaks there. Incidentally, Ireland beat both Scotland and England for restaurant or pub food quality in our visit there with Scotland a close second.
British beans do taste better though
Know what I want, right now? A triple fried egg sarne with chili sauce and chutney!
It’s a state of the art sarny.
I am not familiar with chutney but it sounds good. heh
It’s the state of the floor that concerns me!
;-)
I’ve looked it up. Sounds like there is a wide variety.
My mother went through a “Spam Phase” when I was growing up. None of the four of us has touched the stuff since. :)
I learned about stone soup from Land of the Lost some 35 years ago. I loved that show! Still scared of Sleestacks, though.
