With the exception of the asinine “behind the bedroom doors” statement, I like that this lawyer is on his side.

It is my contention that the statement was a shot over the bow to the media - if they go after his clients with intimate family issues that that are not relevant (arguably IMO), they will be liable for slander if it causes damage to reputation, or livelihood. (I have no legal background, just a guess)

Of course he did.

But all most of America heard about was the charges against him, which is what I'm referring to.

Good and then sue every media outlet that reported it to be true if any elements to the story is untrue.

“Cain has already admitted that they were friends for 13 years, he had been giving her money, and his wife and family didn’t know.
I don’t see how he can reason that away. It’s over.”

Wrong - his wife knew.

Don’t be spreading lies.

From Lolly Winne, a well-known Cain volunteer:

“I was on a conference call at 11:15am this morning with Herman Cain himself, where he explained to us that, once again, the accusations against him are COMPLETELY FALSE. He ALSO explained that he is NOT considering dropping out of the campaign, despite what the media is reporting. The campaign is moving forward as planned. Additionally, he shared that Ginger White WAS a friend of his (and his wife’s) and she was a struggling unemployed single mom who received several eviction notices due to being unable to pay her rent. So being the good man that he is, Mr. Cain helped her out financially as a FRIEND, as he has done for other friends in the past.”

When asked what the reassessment was about - Winne replied, “I was on the call, I did not hear the words “REASSESS THE CAMPAIGN”, I heard, ‘we need to assess the situation (the damage) over the next couple of days and continue to MOVE FORWARD.’ He said NOTHING about considering to drop out. He didn’t even INSINUATE it.”

Check her financials as well; see what debts got myteriously paid off or forgiven. Then track the source.

uh oh, the Ginger is in trouble now

Nope, not yet anyway. Cain's lawyer can demand all he wants, but if there's no lawsuit, he has no power to force the records to be turned over. And since Cain would know what's in those text messages, either White or the Fox news reporter could tell his lawyer to go talk to his client. Cain and his lawyer know already whether they can sue her for defamation.

Show me where Cain said his wife didn't know....

"Conservatives" are doing more harm to Mr. Cain than the Dem-complicit media.

I'm just going by what the media said he told them in interviews. I have no idea what he told his campaign volunteers.

It sounds like the only thing Cain is guilty of, is trying to help those less fortunate than himself, get through some financially bad times. He would do well in the future to investigate future prospects thoroughly for a history of lawsuits and mental illness.

“Dale Russell, the reporter who broke the story on Atlanta’s Fox 5 News, asked Cain about White’s allegations. Russell says Cain told him, “I have helped her financially.” When CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked Cain to describe his relationship with White, Cain said he was just “trying to help a friend because not having a job, etc., and this sort of thing. That's all there is to the relationship.” Cain acknowledged that he had known White for 13 years and that neither his wife nor anyone else in his family knew her. So, at a minimum, Cain maintained a friendship with White for 13 years and gave or lent her money without telling his wife about her.”

I head the same thing on the news and have read it in other articles. Google it if you need more.

I still don't see how he can explain that away?

I refuse to condemn Herman over an allegation. If there is proof, let's see it.

I care less about what he is accused of than I am in his honesty in dealing with it. Private affairs are one thing, lying about them to everyone is something that runs even deeper.

Even during Clinton's impeachment, for me it was never about the bimbo parade... It was the lying under oath and suborning perjury that I felt deserved not only his Impeachment, but removal from office and incarceration.

That, I think, is the key. Somewhere up the line some money is being exchanged, and it's very likely going to have Axelrod's or even Soros' prints on it.

Now we talking. It take more than Deny Deny to get above this. There has got to be real consequence for slandering him if there is no evidence.

If there is proven to be no facts. Even the MSM should be punished as well as the news reporters. Dan Rather lost his job for this type of BS.

I agree that conservatives are adding fuel to the fire. For crying out loud. The left will smear ANY candidate that the left fears. Imagine - oh wait - a REAL black man, a conservative, straight thinking, Christian (gasp), married leaping to the top of the GOP contenders. We ARE the tea party, we need to stick together, not tear each other apart.

Where is that giddy babe that Gloria Alred drug out of the shadows? She’s gone - Where are the other two alleged folks. Oh yes...... the Axelrod, left smear tactics that took Ryan out of the race in Illinois when Ozippy first ran for Senate. Remember the wimpy pubbies put in Alan Keyes to run against Ozippy in that race. Same thing is going on here. Follow the money and you’ll see WHY these gals are all coming out to smear Cain.

Don’t let them win. Write letters to the editor, call talk shows, make noise and don’t fall for these fals accusations. Whether he’s your guy or not, help defend Cain. Come on Freepers. We’re better than that. This is war folks. Do your part, please.

By design. The Dems have learned from experience that we are more than willing to eat our own on the flimsiest of contexts...

I think she's holding her cards close to her chest.

The idea that he actually gave her money and they traveled together blows my mind.
