Her campaign is trying to undo the damage:

Tonight, the Bachmann campaign has released the following statement: “Congresswoman Bachmann is a member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence and is fully aware that we do not have an embassy in Iran and have not had one since 1980. She was agreeing with the actions taken by the British to secure their embassy personnel and was speaking in the hypothetical, that if she was President of the United States and if we had an embassy in Iran, she would have taken the same actions as the British.”

I'll go on record and say that we have already doomed ourselves for 2012. The Left must be sitting back thinking: “It can't be this easy!”

We have a man destroying our country at present, and he's almost completed his mission, and we sit here and castigate every last candidate because they misspeak, are forced to answer bogus allegations from almost twenty years ago, yada, yada.

In our quest for absolute perfection, we're going to ensure that Obama has four more years to completely destroy our country. Say what you will about our GOP field...THEY DON'T HATE THE COUNTRY, AND ARE NOT TRYING TO DESTROY IT!

As I said, we've already doomed ourselves for 2012. I guess this is why we're known as the “Stupid Party.”

I like Bachmann, but her approach lately has been weak. I can easily forgive her statement on a US embassy in Iran.

With that being said, where do the rest of the candidates stand on the Iran issue. I'm not writing about thought out campaign phrases, but reacting to the UK embassy situation.

I was watching the news with the wife and heard about the UK embassy for the first time. My immediate reaction was that Obama did not have the balls to lead the world and call for all nations to pull out of their embassies in Iran. We would then know who was on our side, including Obama. It is the perfect way to isolate Iran.

Of course, none of the other candidates said anything to my knowledge. It was a perfect opportunity to draw a clear contrast between a Republican candidate and Obama.

When I first look at something like this I look at the author or the person responsible for the article. In this case it looks like Alan Colmes. In that instance the report has no credibility.

I’m sure Michele Bachmann knows the story of the American Embassy in Iran during the Carter administration and how it played out.

It’s too bad people don’t dismiss something like this when they see Alan Colmes’s name attached to it.

I believe that is not what she said. Glen Beck said that on his show Michele said just the opposite about the Iranian embassy a couple of days before. So she clearly knows whats up with the situation. Colmes is just promoting a lie.

No one has perfect knowledge, and no one speaks perfectly in these types of situations. I want a President who, given the right information, can arrive at the right conclusion and do the right thing. As far as I am concerned, debates are nearly worthless.

I’d open one, and then close it.

According to reports, Bachmann applauded the U.K.’s move, adding, “That’s exactly what I would do [if I were president]. We wouldn’t have an embassy in Iran. I wouldn’t allow that to be there.”

I'm buying her campaign's response. This looks to me like the scumbag Democrat media is trying to smear Bachmann. It is sad that so many here appear to be falling for it. On the other hand, she needs to be a lot more careful in her phrasing because she should fully understand by now that the scumbags are out to smear each and every Republican candidate. Give them nothing they can twist or spin - - make them resort to their fallback position of outright lying.

HUH? The 'explanation' was worse than the gaffe! Just sad.

Obviously, she misspoke. I really don’t see the big deal.

She was on Mark Levin’s show and said that she got it right 2 (or 3) times, but NBC deliberately only recorded the time she misspoke.

I’m paraphrasing, so check it out for yourself by listening to the Thursday show on MarkLevinShow.com.

Good Lord, It's much worse than we thought.

"For two days days I was talking about this issue with the British Embassy, I sit on the Intelligence Committee. Three different times in front of this MSNBC reporter I talked about the British Embassy, and I talked about how, if I was the United States president, there would never be a US Embassy, and I said there isn't one now, and nor would there ever be because there is state-sponsored terror. This MSNBC reporter heard me say that THREE times." ~Michele Bachmann

She didn't even misspeak. The braindead MSM had an agenda and cherry-picked. And now they refuse to retract their blatant misrepresentation. Wow, I'm flabbergasted.

If you read the article she did not say she would close our embassy in Iran.

She stated she would never have one there.

Someone trying to twist her words is dispicable, but par for the course anymore.

The article went on to clarify it, not that it matters to the people trying to drag conservatives down.
