I love how the article calls it a "slight" lead...it's ouside the margin of error at 5 points, and when it's just Newt and Myth, it goes up to 8 points.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has a slight lead over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney among Virginia Republicans in the race for president, according to a new poll. That is encouraging that a candidate that can be considered a conservative is leading 0bama lite.
There is hope.

With only Perry, Paul, Newt, and Romney the socialist on the ballot, I wonder how the numbers in VA will change.

“Good news for Newt”.
Yes . Zane needs all of the good news he can muster. His pleadings for mercy have gone unanswered.

GO NEWT!
Yes, apparently there will only be Newt, Mitt, Perry and Paul on the ballot as the others did not qualify in time.

Good news, yes!... but Romney has money to run hit-piece ads again, which will take their toll.
Gingrich needs money. Gingrich has to win.

A fellow Virginian today told me they want Romney to get the nomination because they felt he had the best chance against
Satan Obama. Yeah but what about the core republicans, I asked? I told him the blue dogs and independents can't do it alone, the republicans have to be excited about their candidate first.
Newt's VP could be the key.

It’s Myth who’ll be needing mercy now that Newt has decided to stop being a punching bag.
But a cursory glance at your posting history indicates that you support him. You’re in good company: Bob Dole and GHWBush also came out for him. You must be in RINO heaven.

“considered”....the key word. Not sure he is REALLY conservative, though, based on his past.
Still better than Myth! :)

Well, as a card carrying member of the fat old guys who hope our republic doesn't sink into the cesspool of socialism, I applaud this! Wooo!
Sadly, I had wished we could have run someone who would have, at a minimum, pledged to dredge the steaming pile of stench we call DC of its filth.
Oh well...

It’ll be interesting to see how it salts out given that only 4 made the VA primary ballot: Newt, Rick Perry, Ron Paul and massachusetts toe-jam. Sad to say, Rick Santorum didn’t make it on the ballot.
I reckon it’ll come out pretty much how this poll has things stacked up. I think Ron Paul will poll better because VA is an open primary state, but will still finish third.

They’ll come slinking back and vote for whomever the gop nominates. FR will be a laugh a minute with the tortured explanations of why mittens “really is a conservative.”
